Expect some fking nerves for sure. For me it felt like going into a super scary rollercoaster ride. And that's exactly how I came out too. Happy that I did it.

Two 80lb springs = 160lb / 72kg. Your bag is 45kg = 100lb. Have you tried upgrading to two 100lb springs so it's 200lb / 90kg giving you 40lbs / 18kg less bounce & giggle?

Thanks for posting. I’m looking to replace my double-end bag with something smaller. Also, I have the exact same RDX bag that I’ve had for a few years now and oddly enough, I’m looking to replace it with the same exact ringside brand bag that you switched to yourself. So, like I said, thanks for posting, it was really helpful. Also, speaking from personal experience with the RDX bag(which I have mounted with two bungees, on each the top and bottom); I found it held up well, especially for the money and with the use of some gorilla tape. The bag just won’t stay inflated anymore and I’d like to move on to something smaller anyway. On that note, I read on a manufacture’s website that you should lube the needle before blowing up the bag, as it will negate some wear and tear problems. I don’t know if this is common knowledge, but, I figured Id share it anyway. Much love and respect to everyone who keeps grinding away for the love of pugilism!!!

Greatl tip about the needle! The 5 inch bag is a very different experience than the RDX bag. There is very little resistance which takes some gettingnuses to. I ended up adding a Mexican style bag as well to round out my training.

I feel bad waiting too long to get boxing experience. Now at age 49. Used to do boxing younger but not know that we must do fights as require to learn it

I purchased both the medium kzbin.infoUgkxfh2XUOHWYHKQYOvSq2gZ6PyCmVkTFGWz and small speed bags from Meister. I'm very glad I got both as the workout is quite different from the two. The small is fantastic for getting your speed built up once familiar with your striking. The medium bag provides a considerable amount more resistance building more strength in your punches. I highly recommend both sizes. Some people have expressed concern over the latex bladder leaking down more frequently than the traditional rubber. I have not found this to be an issue at all.

The only thing I can think of with this setup, is if you have all of these hooks drilled into only 1 ceiling joist and try to hang a big 150lb - 200lb heavy bag, over time it will put too much stress on just 1 ceiling joist. I'd say it's probably better to create a mount that is attached to two ceiling joists so that the weight is evenly distributed between two separate joists in the ceiling.
