UHHH! Good documentary. I just watched the first episode of season three of "The Tudors" and as soon as I finish the series I want to watch the other movies and series...Honestly, I want to see everything! But let me talk about something that bothered me a few days ago. Basically, I saw a post on Pinterest. It read: "Unpopular opinion: Elizabeth is much better than Mary." Then underneath it was written "Mary is such a brat😭😭😭 People only love her because of Sarah Borger (this is what the post said, even Bolger was spelled wrong lol, and it wasn't my typo, that's how it was in the post, some people are really illiterate)." You can see how furious I was about that. Personally, I wouldn't compare them: they're great historical figures in their own ways, and honestly I adore Mary with all my heart, and I hate people who only create war. And why hate on Mary? Because of persecution, killing people for any reason is very wrong, and Elizabeth had blood on her hands, even more. (And she had time, she ruled for many years, even more than Mary). Why brat too? For she was only kind to Henry and Jane Seymour. To Henry out of pure manners and because he was her father, for God's sake: even though I personally don't think he earned her respect, I love about Mary that she continued to be on good terms with her father after all he did to her. To Jane Seymour, from return of favor. She was very kind to Mary and loved her. She was a wonderful stepmother and I honestly love that too. And what should Mary have done to avoid being a "brat:" to come to terms with Anne Boleyn, perhaps the second biggest reason for her unhappiness? It honestly makes me very angry, and it's very bad. Mary has so many qualities: wise, kind (well, sometimes, I honestly think she had a good heart, but she was a very damaged princess), she even let people out of the Tower, and let eight hundred Protestants escape death because of status. That's a lot more people spared than burned. Also, I honestly like to believe that Mary executed Jane Grey because of a genuine kill-or-be-killed situation: for example, I believe the rebels would have killed Mary if she hadn't put down that rebellion by executing Jane Grey, who was the cause of the rebellion and they wanted her on the throne. Also, Mary loved Elizabeth: even though her mother was very unkind to Mary! I think she was a kind person all in all. I also love that one scene from season two of "The Tudors," I guess, when Mary was able to comfort Elizabeth while she was crying in the cradle. I retold that scene a hundred times to everyone I know. But back to Elizabeth! I love how she managed to defeat Spain's Armanda. Frankly, I think Mary would be disappointed to see her dear husband wanting her sister's hand because of his fanatical desire to control her and England and restore Catholicism. Fortunately, Elizabeth was smart enough to refuse this and the church sided with her, considering it incest, similar to Catherine and Arthur's case after her marriage to Henry. Also, she was honestly fascinating to learn: but I honestly felt like her life kind of just started when she became queen, everything else revolved around her mother or sister, almost nothing about her until her reign. But I also liked knowing that she brushed her teeth with sugar. Sugar was a sign of wealth and was new in the Tudor Era, freshly arrived in England. Whoever could afford sugar, which was very expensive, was rich. And who was not rich like the Queen of England? That's why she must have had very rotten teeth. As a person who loves to eat sweets, yes, I understand her: how can she resist? I also heard that Elizabeth was afraid of going to the dentist, and with good reason: I honestly don't think dentistry was much advanced back then. I wonder what kind of instruments they used? Not a good thing, for sure, it was the damned sixteenth century (seventeenth at the time of her death). Also, I wanted to discuss a bit about her reasons for avoiding relationships: trauma, being molested by Thomas Seymour (I'm glad he got an ax to the head, if you know what I mean). Also, the women around her were destroyed by men: Henry or Philip II of Spain destroyed their wives. I think Henry was reason enough, with the aspect that he executed her mother. Not to mention Philip towards Mary. I read a little about them, by the way. Turns out he wasn't as much of an ass as I expected: he and Mary were inseparable, usually going out together, or witnessing every ceremony together, and mass. I even read how he helped her get on and off the horse, which is so sweet, considering there are many sources that she was very short, about average height (157cm, according to my research, she was only two centimeters taller than me LOL🤣 that makes me proud). Honestly, I think he was doing this more out of respect than love, because he had mistresses in the future and himself stated that she was a good creature, but older than he expected, and unattractive (says a man who looks like he's been stung by a bee, and on those thick lips). Also, in her letters, Mary stated that if he falls in love with her it is his business and she sees this as a political game from which everyone wins, but not love: in the end, unfortunately, she fell in love with him and he did not fall in love with her not in the least. Also, I watched a documentary that says Mary may have had endometriosis. It is a type of disease that causes infertility, or also profuse menstrual bleeding (which was definitely her case in both respects, because, despite her efforts, she did not conceive). Honestly, a case of endometriosis explains a lot. It could have been caused by her uncontrolled hormone secretion, you once said she had hormone problems. (That fact makes me very sad, it's Henry's fault again, plus I was hoping for a lot of things that the story would have gone the other way. I also wanted Mary and Philip of Bavaria to end up together. Thirteen age difference, I know, but... it still seemed like he cared about her. It also breaks my heart that he died unmarried, he must have longed for her.) Also, I wish you a happy new year!🥳🥳🥳
@TudorDarkness20 күн бұрын
Happy new year! Thank you and that's an amazing season. Beware some of the series and films about the Tudor era are hard to find. I know how people respond about Elizabeth, that's why I avoid those pages. Those people are lost, they cannot comprehend the fact Mary did so many great things and all historic persons have their faults. Yes, also Elizabeth. She was also responsible for many deaths. Maybe they are jealous of Sarah? She was in some amazing series and films. I absolutely agree with you, but I am an avid Mary and Katherine supporter. As I have stated many times before I am not an Anne Boleyn fan. Although I do not think Anne was guilty of what she was charged with. But that's a different matter. That's true, Elizabeth and we must not forget Henry himself and also Edward, also had much blood on their hands. I think it all comes down to the religious perspective people used to have and some still have. (true that) Of course Mary was still kind to him, he was her father and you always love your parents, innit? She also liked Anne of Cleves and Katherine Parr. Agreed, but same counts for the two I just mentioned. She wasn't a brat, she was hurting and was not being treated well by her own father. It's not even Anne's fault but his. He's the actual brat. Or rather was. Agreed, but I fear their point of view comes from a religious aspect. You do know most people became Protestant and she was Catholic? And the author who decided to ruin her reputation was 1. a Protestant, 2. against female leaders. Plus since it was after her death and she was not able to rule for many years she was not able to defend herself in any way. Mary did not want Lady Jane Grey to die, but she had no choice. Spain was also counting on her to do so and she needed a marriage and an heir to the throne. She indeed loved Elizabeth and also spared her life. Agreed and Mary never hated Elizabeth. She did have some issues with Edward, not because she did not love him, but because he forced her to give up her religious beliefs. I think Mary was proud of Elizabeth but also hurt by Philip II's actions. He never loved her and Elizabeth gave him exactly what he needed. He was also a brat tbh. True about Katherine's case, but Philip wasn't the nicest guy, so she had even more reason to keep him at bay. There are some things you can read about her, but due to her mum she wasn't being treated well for many years. Yet she was very intelligent and indeed loved candy a bit too much. So it wasn't just the fact she brushed her teeth with sugar. Plus sugar had become quite cheap around that time. Yet it was expensive during the middle ages. It was very understandable, going to the dentist was a complete hell, she was a sweet-tooth. So she did need some fixing. Agreed, but maybe she knew it would also ruin her reputation. It was a different time and a man could literally take over the crown. Especially once you've given birth (which was also a dangerous thing). Thomas was a nasty man and it's sick people believed Elizabeth liked what he did. Of course she did not, she was a young girl. Very true and when looking back at that time more women were suffering thanks to certain men. She knew what she was doing. It is clear she was upset about her mum, which is understandable. She must have missed something in her life. Yet she was too young to fully remember her mum. Well, he did do those things. Yet he did mention he never loved her and did not support her whilst she thought she was pregnant. Nor was even near her when she was hurting. So he had two sides. Just like Henry. She was indeed very small, but most people were. I am 165cm, haha. Not that tall as well, but my husband is 195cm, so he is incredibly tall. That's actually well stated, plus he needed Mary. Making England part of the Roman Empire wasn't an easy thing to do and he never succeeded. The people of England also hated his guts, so that was another reason to do those things out of respect. He wasn't handsome himself, he had the Hapsburg jaw xD. She loved him so much and probably because she was in need of some love. Let's be fair, Mary did not know much love in her life. So she craved for it. Poor Mary =[. Which documentary was that? Because we cannot be certain about her condition, all we can do is guess. Same counts for Henry and Katherine. It could have been that, but she was in a lot of mental pain which also causes irregular periods (I've suffered from that as well when my ptsd was at its worst). So it's hard to tell. Most things were his fault, or Edward's fault. Let's not forget about Edward. He was such a tiny brat (this is not his parents' fault but his regents!! We cannot blame their genes, nor Henry's parenting. His regents were to blame). That would have been amazing, also for the Tudor Dynasty.

@@TudorDarkness Happy New Year again! You're welcome. Yes, the beginning of the season didn't go very well, because of how sad I saw Mary because she had to sign that damn contract! She had to give up her religion, of course it was difficult. If you ask me, that's not fair, because Henry remained Catholic even though he created the Church of England. (Honestly, I missed talking to you lol.) I know! Elizabeth is great and I can't stop saying it, but I hate those fanatics who worship her, and her mother, yet talk about Mary or Catherine of Aragon as idiots. That makes me angry! Anne Boleyn treated Mary like trash: she called the child a "cursed bastard." It's emotional abuse, plus supporting physical abuse, saying that certain people slap Mary if she disobeys. I don't know why people love her so much after this. I know that Mary and Elizabeth are incomparable, judging by their reigns (for example, Mary burned two hundred and eighty-three Protestants in just three years, in the period of 1555-1558), but at the end of the day, they both killed. Sarah Bolger is awesome! I adore her! She was awesome in the series and whenever I see her on screen I scream with excitement. I know...and I'm a fan of Catherine of Aragon and Mary I: one was a strong and kind woman, the other a damaged and broken princess and queen. Honestly, like you said, some sexism and anti-Catholic sentiment against Mary has portrayed her as a "villain." I even saw Protestants throwing hate at Mary even today. But they have good reasons: I honestly think that what Mary did was not good in every way during her reign. Also, I think her story doesn't justify her actions, but it does explain them and why they happened: I honestly think that everything she went through can screw a person up, all that trauma and suffering, and she had every reason to become truly evil, but she didn't. She even let eight hundred Protestants pass unslain, let the people in the Tower go, and spared her sister. It's honestly kind of peaceful: she even thought of letting Protestants be Protestants for the first two years, but her life pretty much destroyed her mentally during the persecutions. She thought that God was punishing her for showing great mercy to the Protestants, and that the only way to appease Him was to "burn their sins." She thought that God was probably not giving her a Catholic heir because of her mercy to the Protestants, so she thought she had to to bear the risk. Again, these may have been reasons and we don't know what was going on in Mary's mind, but we can guess. If I were Mary, I would erase Henry from my life and refer to him as "the person who gave me life," not "father." But Mary must have been a big person to forgive him, right? (You know I don't think Mary is a "brat?" I was just quoting the post lol.) Hmm. So the author was sexist and anti-Catholic? Um...definitely. I know that Mark Twain once denigrated Mary as a "cruel and cold woman" in "The Prince and the Pauper," and John Knox once did too. I only know of those two lol. Yes, right? Mary was left with no choice, plus I honestly think she would have been dead after the rebellion if she hadn't prevented it, what do you think? I also know that Mary loved Edward very much, she was like a mother figure to him and he even called her his favorite sister, that in the end he mistreats her and makes her leave her religion like Henry used to (his father's mini self, right?). I know lol. Mary would have been offended to know that Philip had asked for Elizabeth's hand in marriage. I'm glad that Elizabeth didn't betray her sister, the trauma plus the exploitation that Philip wanted to demonstrate on Elizabeth and turn England Catholic. Yes, I read that she brushed her teeth with sugar (I think she inherited her sweet tooth from her father, just as Mary inherited her love of hunting, gambling and fashion from her father). I know lol. I think in season one they poked a hole in the sufferer's back to bleed out, but it did more harm than good. It must have been similar with dentistry. Yes, I know, marriage would take a risk. Her sister survived the controversy surrounding her marriage to Philip. Plus, Philip wanted to use Elizabeth. More precisely: to convert England to Catholicism. I know, Elizabeth was not even three years old when her mother died...😭😭😭 Yes! That's for sure: Philip didn't love her, but she 100% deserved it. He did some good things, but not enough. Bro, you're ten whole centimeters taller than me. Plus 195cm is very tall, like your husband is a giant or something. Unfortunately, I don't have great genetics: both of my parents are not enviably tall lol. I support the people of England, as I hate Philip. It seems that in private he was very cold and ultra focused on politics. If he lived in this time, his life would revolve around business and work lol. I know: I like to talk about Mary with my grandma, she said Philip was very...ugly lol, and that she thought Mary was blind when she asked him for a husband, also that Mary was prettier than him. (I think she also loves the red hair and blue eyes as much as I do.) I know. Mary truly deserved to be loved. My heart is breaking. I can't remember which documentary it was, but I definitely remember the misinformation that Mary hated Elizabeth: again, Mary loved her, plus I think she was a bit bitter towards her at first for being Anne Boleyn's daughter, but she loved her in the end. Again, we can only guess, as you said, about endometriosis: it also causes nausea, which is a good mimic of pregnancy symptoms. I know. Sometimes I wish Philip of Bavaria and Mary had been together and had children if endometriosis wasn't the case. Also, I've been watching some great documentaries lately. They were from the channel "History Calling," and they were so good and informative. There were three about Mary (it is certain that the author had a favorite).

Dankjewel! We zijn net terug van nieuwe opnames!

@@TudorDarkness don’t be angry, i don’t want to start to argue, don’t direct your anger at me, I am either accept it, or/in denial/agree, or/disagree via reluctance, I feel bad for you, I know but I feel bad for both andy barclay his life a living hell after being incriminated by chucky since no one believe Andy about chucky is a living doll, committing crimes and murders framing Andy, andy’s mother mrs barclay is place in the place in the asylum by the time of child’s play 2 when also no one believe mrs barclay’s claims chucky is a living doll,I feel bad for Andy when he’s bullied at military school after enrolling military school, also in child’s play 2 when he’s given detention by his sadist teacher when the teacher thinks Andy write obscenities on papers it was chucky wrote that, and I feel bad for Jamie lloyd who is a pariah after attacking and wounding her foster mother resulting Jamie becoming mute and placing her in the children’s clinic, (after she and sister escape from Micheal myers) (possessed by her uncle Micheal myers at her home) then Micheal comes after Jamie again losing her foster sister and foster sister’s best friend Tina by Micheal myers After Micheal myers is behind bars at the police station after captured and the police about to take Jamie back to the clinic and the shootout/massacre happened and the unidentified man in black killed all the police officers including the sheriff then Jamie came to the police station and she saw micheal’s empty cell after that she is kidnapped, held captive and tortured by the cult through childhood to teen hood from 1989 to 1995 and giving birth to her baby boy (via torture) escape from the cult pursued and killed by Micheal myers. I watch those movies when I watched those of both andy barclay and Jamie lloyd they have that in common/are kindred spirits I missed those videos,🥺😭 what do you mean you don’t like those Andy barclay x Jamie Lloyd videos?, why those are never your favorite, and what do you mean you never wanted to be reminded of that of your life?, and getting rid of a part of your trauma?, why? Am not throwing a outburst,/am not saying anything against you about those videos, you’re going to create new and or/improved Andy barclay x jamie lloyd videos, if you think about it/if you consider it, if you’re not busy.🥺😢

@@legacysonicfan2098 I am not cross with you, but to me it seemed you were. They were both tortured, indeed. Jamie even more than Andy, since she was abducted by a cult. And those songs were requests and requests are hard to do. I swear, most times you don't like the song and you ruin the video in your opinion. This leads to you feeling yourself guilty towards your viewers. And I created both videos when I was in a very bad place, so I could never revisit that time of my life, nor do I even want to think back of that time. But yes I am going to use both Andy and Jamie again and yes I shall combine them in videos. I am not creating one now, but I do have plans for it. I have to discuss with Wesley what would be a nice song to use (without copyright), since we run the channel together now. But also expect adult Andy, we love the series a lot and are cross about it being cancelled.
