I’m trying to find a video on this topic that is created by someone with an American accent because it is easier for me to understand. I have a really hard time with accents and I’m not sure why it is that Americans do not make this type of video.

thanks for the video! Is it possible to enter the lookout at night? Looking for some Astro photo, and trying to understand if I need to book their crazy expensive hotel or not (driving itself is not an issue)
@BlokhinFilms26 күн бұрын
We don't know what it is like now. But, when we were there, it was no problem. We could see people walking with flashlights at night. We were up late ourselves too.
@NoworriesBro26 күн бұрын
@@BlokhinFilms thanks! So there were no gates (actual ones, which are closed) between the main road and the lookout (and hence The View Hotel) - right?
@BlokhinFilms26 күн бұрын
I don't know that. We were on foot and did not wander too far from the camp. But, we saw people walking very far in the distance. I don't recall seeing cars driving when it got dark though. So, maybe there are gates that get closed after a certain hour. You can always call the park and ask.

Glad to have found your video, I was wondering if all the camera gear you have and travel costs to many countries all came from selling footage?

At the beginning, it was from stock photos. But, more recently, we are earning more from stock videos. So, yes, from stock photos + footage.

Thanks for the advice. I have a specific question. If you have 5 photos with different shots of the same subject (for example for the lake photograph you took for example), how do you give different titles for the same subject? I would very much welcome suggestions. Thank you very much
@BlokhinFilmsАй бұрын
As for us, they have to be substantially different. Otherwise, we would dilute their value. If they are indeed different (different lighting, angle, etc), then it is easy. You just add words that describe the differences. For example: "Great Salt Lake with mountains in background wide angle view", " Great Salt Lake at sunrise with mountains in background" etc.

100% agree. Seeing how goats/sheep grazed on olive tree leaves and wild herbs (there is barely any grass on Ikaria), it was unsurprising how exceptional the quality of dairy and meat was on the island.

@@BlokhinFilms I have been looking at Sony but was worried that the 4k crop factor in their cameras might not be a good thing for stock footage? I don't know? I'm inexperienced in this part. That's why your advice would be much appreciated!
@BlokhinFilmsАй бұрын
I do not worry too much about these details. The best camera is the one you have. Full frame cameras of any major manufacturer (Nikon, Sony or Canon) will work extremely well for stock footage. Of course, there are some nuances here and there, but it is largely irrelevant for stock. We have Nikon D850 that I record stock videos. Yes, it is an old camera, not exactly good for recording videos. We have been a bit reluctant to update our lineup for now, but will soon. And yet, I work around its limitations and took many of our best-selling stock clips (we still continue using it). I just think that specs are overrated at the end of the day.

It's not about eating. It's about NOT eating. If you want good health: Fast! If you want to save money:Fast! If you want to really feel great: Fast! If you want to feel emotionally well:Fast. Start out slowly and increase your fasting time over the first month. You will notice how easy it is to get longer periods and the benefits will immediately be noticeable. Be humble,Be kind, Be forgiving, Be yourself!You are wonderfully made ! Peace!

We don't know whether centenerians actually fast on a regular basis. Moreover, fasting comes with its own shortcomings, as it creates stress for the body (elevated cortisol, potentially loss of muscle depending on how you do it). For some, fasting may do more damage than good.

Copyright vs. Licensing...I'm an indie writer and have a vision for my book series covers. I have licensed several images I generated with Shutterstock's AI Generator. If someone else copied the designs I generated and licensed, would Shutterstock have to sue, since there is no copyright?
@BlokhinFilmsАй бұрын
Sorry, I am not a legal expert to answer this question. There was a case with Kris Kashtanova where she was trying to copyright her ai generated images and failed. To me, if there is no copyright, then how can you sue someone? It is a completely different matter if you can prove that someone used your copyrighted image to train ai and generate a very similar image. If there was no compensation involved for training material, then it may be an issue (Getty and others are going after OpenAI for this). But, their training material had copyright attached (real images).

Would you mind sharing if you make enough from video sales on Adobe Stock to make up for the much lower returns you receive by not being exclusive on Pond5? As you must know, Pond5 pays 50% more to exclusive contributors. For example, instead of getting only $400 from $1000 of clip sales you would get $600. Quite a big difference! So does it make sense for you to be on Adobe considering the extra you would be making from being only on Pond5 (and Shutterstock)? Not forgetting that submitting to one less agency also means less upload work too.
@BlokhinFilms2 ай бұрын
It takes very little effort submitting to Adobe actually. Like very little. Yes, it does make sense for us financially not going exclusive with Pond5. We submit videos only to Pond5, Adobe and Shutterstock. We make multiples more on Adobe + Shutterstock vs. Pond5 alone. Not going to disclose numbers here though. This can be unique to our situation.
@AlexSegre2 ай бұрын
Great to see your workflow. I use collections in Lightroom to keep track of submissions etc although I can see some benefits to using a spreadsheet. I don't give any descriptions in the file name - if you were an agency you wouldn't be paying somebody to perform such a pointless task! A unique file number is all you need.
@BlokhinFilms2 ай бұрын
Descriptions in names is not necessary, I agree. We do it more for ourselves if we need to search for a file through win explorer.

You might want to look at switching to Micro Four Thirds cameras like the Panasonic G9 II. So much better for video than the Nikon D850: log footage, higher frame rates at 4K 10 bit, incredible stabilisation (making gimbals almost redundant), great AF. Not to mention a far lighter kit bag as the lenses are so much smaller and lighter. There really is no need to be shooting full frame in this day and age!

Nikon D850 is not really a video camera. We make do with what we have!
