This makes sense to me because my kids have not taken to phonics the way I did, Even though we have similar brain styles.

Wow!!! So powerful! You just never know what someone is experiencing inside their mind. Grace and celebration to you!

Yes, there is a root cause for all we are experiencing.

Wow. This is so encouraging. We just started about a week ago and it's been a tough several days trying to get used to the program and fitting it all in. I'm doing this with two children. Thanks for sharing.

I ordered this but I'm still not sure what's in it! What do you mean by "multi sensory components"?
@bobbiwingard27173 жыл бұрын
And they see, hear, and write (multi-sensory)5-7 facts over 60 time during the week. Sensory is dealing with the senses- see, hear, feel, taste, smell. You can't smell or taste the fact but do you understand now?

Interesting. In New Zealand when it comes to math, they are more interested in the strategy the child uses to find a solution than getting a right answer. So what you call divergent would be considered expected in a New Zealand classroom. Great video.

We have been patching my son for nearly a year now but dominance has not switched yet. We are eagerly ready for that change. This encouraged me. I hope we are close!

Hi Melodie, Have you had his eyes checked to make sure he is seeing well out of that dominant eye? How many hours a day are you patching the eye?
@themcgarrahs4 жыл бұрын
@@braincoachtips1980 it's probably been 2 years since his eyes were checked. He was 20/20 in both eyes. We are patching 4 hours a day on week days and 2 hours a day on Saturday and Sunday.

This is fascinating. My daughter only scooted and when we would try to have her grip our thumbs she would let go, she couldnt pull herself up. Eventually she was diagnosed with having low muscletone. But also, as a young mom I had her in all those baby seats or in a carrier. She did not spend enough time on the floor. She is now 8 and still hates writing and I would say is a level behind. Thanks for this video.

Hello! Thanks so much for the video! Question regarding children. When age seven, is that referring to the child’s birth age or the developmental age?
@brainsprintsoffice32515 жыл бұрын
Hi Charity, it is referring to their birth age.

So how does one "fix" mixed dominance?
@braincoachtips19806 жыл бұрын
Hi Suzanne, I visited with Dr. Jan who was in AL doing workshops at the Teach Them Diligently Convention. So, I will pass along to you her input. First off, the answer to your question is available in our podcasts or videos. Which ones ave you listened to or watched? Secondly, what has to happen is that you have to start with the hand and line things up with the hand. The eyes have to be corrected the same without eye weakness to get the eye to switch. Both ears have to hear the same to switch the ear. The best walk through to change dominance is noted in the NeuroDevelopmental Approach DVD. Also, there is information in the Dyslexia talk about it , as well. ~ CJ

BRAIN COACH TIPS I may have to get the CD then. Son is left eye dominant but uses right hand to write. Hearing seems mixed. Needing more information about how to know if he should be left handed. My husband is. My son has long term memory issues. Can't spell.

Suzanne, I would suggest you take advantage of a free service we offer. The Survey. Go here: www.littlegiantsteps.com/survey . Download it, and email it back to us. Then a Certified ND will review it and come back with what's happening, so you know and make a recommendation on how to fix it! How does that sound?

Here's the kind of progress you can see, as this child did: When we came to Little Giant Steps two years ago, Timothy was barely passing 2nd grade. He wasn’t reading very well, couldn’t remember things that he learned the day before, couldn’t concentrate because the noise in the classroom bothered him and he was just really frustrated. At home, just cleaning his room was extremely overwhelming for him. One of the first things we noticed after he was on the program for about four months is that he was able to clean and organize his room with little supervision. It is like we have a different child! Timothy has been back in public school for 4th grade (after being home schooled for 1½ years and focusing on the Little Giant Steps program) and is making mostly A’s and a few B’s. His reading has improved beyond our wildest hopes. He has improved exponentially in every academic area. His teacher said, “I don’t know what you did with him, but this is not the same child as in 2nd grade.” D.C. Best of luck. Please call us if you need to talk! Thanks CJ
