Whew! They definitely had a couple of music explosions with White Punks on Dope and then the entire Completion Backwards record really hit it with Talk to You Later as an ultimate 80s single. Saw them on that tour.

One goofball wag commented dumbly on this great Tubes club show in 2019 on You Tube that it is only money not imagination that makes our reality. I replied and retorted with this royal flush, "Money is a tool of instrumental reason that facilitates an idea whose time has emerged, that has both obvious merit and ductile utility; but seriously folks, pay Mr. Waybill his fee before demanding any needless moneyback guarantee!". Ah yes I just love my description of 'ductile utility' when describing the extruded genius of Fee Waybill and The Tubes in performance. It is pronounced as 'duct tape' (not duck tape) as the Yanks are so fond of saying. We here in Oz use the English version, being 'gaffer tape' used to affix and fasten loose cabling in da gaff (the jobsite, stage area, construction site and redidence or property at hand.

First saw them on a premiere video MTV, when it was 24-hour music. An amazing time for sure. Ran out the next day to buy their album, cut it to my cassette tape and played the heck out of it in my car's player :)

This is a song 🎵 that people can actually relate to. A person trying to get rid of someone whose being too possessive or clingy. You tell them I'll talk 👄 to you later.

I lost all respect for Pat when he was quoted in a now defunct guitar magazine many years ago saying that Duane Allman was overrated. I'm close to Troy NY and when I heard he was playing there I looked up ticket prices. Yeah, umm...no way.

I had a friend who was a sales rep at CBS in the 70’s. He used to give me extra copies of new releases (albums)... One batch had a copy with no label in a plain white wrapper. Years later, my curiosity got the best of me and when I played it, it was a promotional copy of this very song. I still have it. ❤❤❤

it definitely caught my attention when David played a few licks before the band kicked in to "snortin' whisky"? and then his playing during the song? so this makes perfect sense (not your ordinary "bass player" by any stretch of the imagination...)
