Swords should have never gone out of fashion for warfare simply because bullets are finite. A knife is fine but it doesn't have the reach whereas even a short sword can be deadly with a simple thrust from a few feet away.

I’ve got one and agree entirely, awesome knife! The sheath though, lol, not so much. I’ve done leather work, so I dyed it dark brown and spent some time rubbing in neatsfoot oil. Looks beautiful, but it’s pocket carry. Gotta be aware of where that point and edge are going, it is seriously sharp!

Agree with you assessment on using cheaper blades. I bought what I would consider a ‘cheaper’ kershaw camp 10 that I use explicitly for battoning kindling while my SOG tiger shark remains stuffed away not in use.

Lots of people wear the sheath on their belt. You could wet the belt loop so it’ll stretch if necessay.

@@Herpetile I just received a Bradford Guardian 3.2. It took some pushing and wiggling but got my 1.5” wide, thick leather belt through the sheath loop. Then I wet the loop and let it dry so the loop stretched out. Next I’ll apply some leather conditioner to soften the leather. Should be perfect after that.

You could trim off that plastic belt loop each side 5-6mm by 1.5cm lgth giving you some space for drawing the knife or drill 3, 6mm holes for the sides using shoe lacing/elastic cords to your back pack strap vertical/upside down.

That is one gorgeous knife, and I love that sheath. If I ever find one of these on a decent sale, I'd love to pick it up. Would be really pretty with a nice patina on it. And "gardening rocks!" I agree, lol.

@@Sanguivore such a unique design. it was my intro to condor blades and I have really enjoyed it. Not sure how well this model’s stainless steel would hold a patina that wasn’t chemically forced on it though… but it is great at being rust resistant !

I agree completely with your value assessment. Something cheaper that I'm actually gonna use is more valuable to me in the longrun no matter who makes it. And I also appreciate you keeping it real about all these companies that cosplay as American just to sucker people. I'm all for American industry, but like you said: when it's unaffordable, I'll just take my business elsewhere.
