What's with the fuel gauge that's running amok from 33 to 62 back and forth? Love these digital gauges, but need to figure out what to do with my other dash lights.. Traction control, Cruise, Airbag, Low Coolant, E-brake, ABS, Seatbelt, Security, Low Fuel, Check Engine, etc.. in a '96 Regal

Can u do this for a civic si 07?
@m882315 жыл бұрын
I would need pics of the dash and measurements just to see if it would fit. Then you would have to choose a design and see if that would fit. Lots of choices to make before you start.

3 years later and Intellitronix has as many rebuilt systems as new on Ebay. I'm thinking they have issues, still getting the bugs and kinks out, OR, playing the odds on a few units being returned. Personally, I don't care for any of the digital systems. My hurdle and question is: My 1978 El Camino Conquista has a "Sweep" style speedometer. Every unit Digital advertises has the disclaimer, "Will not work with a sweep style speedometer." I understand the why: A sweep is slanted slightly back at the top. However, is there not a way to Dremmel or cut the back of the "Sweep" bezel to make the gauge system level?
@m882316 жыл бұрын
The sweep style gauge cluster just doesn't have enough room. What I did was changed out the cluster in mine and then I put the digital gauges in. I also use the GPS Speedo adapter to eliminate any incompatibility with the gears in the transmission and the size of the wheels.

What happens to the odometer? Doesn't this invalidate the vehicles mileage? Is this legal?
@m882317 жыл бұрын
broderp I am sure it is not illegal. Aftermarket gauges are sold all over the place. I saved my old gauges as proof of the original mileage though. Just in case someone want to know. I have replaced the engine, transmission and soon the rear end so most people don't care about the original miles. Even the insurance company doesn't care. they just want to know what the dash says.
@jimmygrant32126 жыл бұрын
You can get a sticker saying the new odometer was installed at X miles on the old odometer and the new odometer had X miles when installed. Or just keep the old gauge.

There are too many options. I write out the schematics once I know what the gauges/options are going to be. For my personal dash, I had the schematics but I have changed things several times and still have 3 more changes/additions to go!

Ageing fuel sender unit. They become more erratic as they age. The dash is merely displaying the signal sent to it from the sender unit in the tank.

@m882319 жыл бұрын
+FRDKNG OK... Yes it is illegal to NOT have an odometer. However... the set I have IS legal. The odometer reading is below the MPH reading. At time index 5:49, it clearly shows the odometer reading.

This looks mad. I wish I can do that car. Only thing I dont like is that the RPMs reading only increments by 100 only. So that kind of sucks. But well done for converting your dash.
@m882319 жыл бұрын
+FRDKNG Thx. It's not hard. Just find the gauges you need (RPM reading) and take it 1 wire at a time. It will pretty much all fall into place.

Yeah I know. I just added speed alert device so had to find the VSS wire. But needing to find that out had to research the cluster wire loom to find the exact pinout. But yeah your right its not hard at all.

Alphonzo Mcknight Sorry for the late reply. My car has been down for about 3 months now. I have swapped out the transmission for a 700r4 and switched over to Vortec heads and intake. I am rewiring the engine bay as well. I thought this was going to be a project that would take a few weeks but its turn into several months. I still have to put the dual exhaust on it and the Zexel torsion rear end (limited slip differential). But having said all of that... Intellitronix has revamped their software and supposedly taken care of the issues I was having. I hope to have the car back on the road within a month and give an update.
@m882319 жыл бұрын
I have spoken with Intellitronix again and they are supposed to be sending me out another set of gauges. They may be slow but they stand behind their product. I will admit that a part of the issues I had was operator error. The second or third gas gauge needs the dip switches set up for the manufacturer of your car. I forgot to do this for that set of gauges. Not I still had other issue but that particular problem was my fault. By the way... the price of the Create-A-Dash system has come WAY down on price. For the price I saw on eBay, I could see where it would be worth it. Maybe it will be good tis time.

I am currently having issues with some of the LED segments going out and getting replacements. The company is willing to get me the replacements, it is just taking a long time to get them. The LED's are not burning out but they are not lighting up. If you disconnect the gauge for a while and plug it back in, they come back on for a while then go out again. I have had this issue on only 2 gauges but this has been since day 1. One of their techs told me that the issue is a resistor pack on the gauges. The gauges are still a good, accurate gauge, I just wish I did not have to deal with the LED segment issue.
@m882319 жыл бұрын
If I have to deal with this too much longer I will sell these and start to look at changing to an LCD display system of some type.
@m882319 жыл бұрын
I tried some different shades but they did not come out the way I wanted them, so they are white again. The gauges come in White, Red, Green and Blue. I think you can get them in combinations of colors as well but this may be through ebay only. You can call the company and find out what they offer.
@Survivor879 жыл бұрын
