When I first saw Madness, it was MTV in the early 80’s. I was in college and was wondering what “this” is…I thought about the Beatles, Stones, Maiden and the rest. Now knowing what SKA is, I get it. 🤘🤘🤘

Despite - or maybe because of - using session standins for guitar and bass, the band sounds tight and energetic. Shame to see a Zionist flag in the audience, but then even at the start Madness sadly attracted a few right-wing fanatics, to the band's deep discomfort.

Gemma Pritchard you will find a way to see them someday soon. I'm 45 so been to many concerts since around 1989. I'm more into rock but loved madness since I was a kid. This will be the 1st time I've seen them.

Aiki San Saw them the night before in Manchester and cried a few times myself, mainly cause I couldn't believe I was there and in the same arena as them. Really made my year seeing them, hope to see them again next year sometime though Wirral is probably a bit far for me so probably after festival season.
