$10.00 in 1849 was a huge sum of money, so was $5.00 for those tickets.

It was based around civil unrest and the personal lives of the key persons of power in both civilian and government roles and how they were woven together. Well written and well acted radio player well worth listening to.

Such a wonderful production, but puzzling and sad that two of the vocal parts were just grotesquely and absurdly overdone and unrealistic. It didn't quite ruin the production, but it did come unpleasantly and unnecessarily close.

Was it really necessary for the butler/valet servant type to keep saying ‘My Lord’ after every damn sentence ?!! How obsequious 🙄was this the same in real life ? Good grief, it couldn’t be me 😖

Aside of the final revelation (brilliantly revealed before the first words are spoken) this is probably Wingfield’s weakest play. That said he is such a superb craftsman of mysteries that the fact that the first and second revelations are so obvious doesn’t diminish the pleasure. A true master
