Must try this as it sounds very easy to setup without using custom IR impulses with more cpu load. Blending with original sound is the key I believe.

ingenious idea! Congrats. I guess there is some convolution involved?
@airwindows4 сағат бұрын
KZbin's AI suggests I answer 'yes', which would be a LIE. No, it's not convolution at all :) it's a Householder matrix reverb like the other reverbs I make, so instead of convolution the word to use with it would be 'algorithmic'. Just thought I'd point out the way the 'AI bot' wants me to push a button to lie to you because it would be easier than answering for realsies :)

Chris… do you already have or could you please make a simple sweepable Elliptical filter for mastering? Something that would mono all frequencies below a selected frequency?
@airwindows19 сағат бұрын
ToVinyl contains this, but it might not be as simple as you like? Might be worth isolating that in the way I isolated out GrooveWear from that plugin. I feel I could very likely make a tight but not excessive butterworth biquad filter that would let you do that, it's not like I haven't done that sort of thing before. Let me see if I can add that to the list.
@zooksy454116 сағат бұрын
okay! Thanks Chris, I’ll definitely go check out ToVinyl - I’m still new here and need to fully explore all your creations thus far. No stress on a stand alone Elliptical, I’m sure you’ve got plenty of other stuff to get on with. I am constantly finding so many amazing uses for your plugins - truly remarkable!

I have a feeling I might start using this more than the brainworx SSL J console emulation. I mostly used the brainworx for expansion and/or compression, but your plugin is even cleaner and smoother while having that classic pop sound. And the fact that it can go beyond most analog consoles as far as the parameters is a nice bonus, too! Super excited to try this with some SynthV vocals!

Hey Chris I really want to understand but shifting better. I was talking to the chat bot and it was telling me that a fader is more transparent than but shifting. I even asked it if I only bit shift once left to get an extra 6 DB on my master if it would be cleaner than turning up my fader 6 DB and the chat bit said that the fader preserves the integrity of the the audio better. I even asked if to consider if I did no processing on my master Channel beside bit shifting compared to the fader and it still said the fader keeps the integrity of the audio better. I’m I missing something?

Sorry, this sounds interesting but how but volume and pan riding work? It pops between settings. I guess something like Tal Filter before is a no no? And no plugin eq’s? I know i am late to the party. I am really interested but do have questions hehe.
@airwindowsКүн бұрын
Use Console9 for that :) Console Zero does not do any volume or pan riding at all, it's like having a bank of very high fidelty big toggle switches laid out in bit-wise patterns. So you can have utterly pristine audio through those switches (bit-identical except for the exponents) but only if all your gain moves are 6dB and you live within just that. Pans, quieter, are all SORT of possible but you only use the ones that only change the exponent…

Sounds fucking brilliant man A* as always, I would be really interested sometime if you could do a walkthrough or say an example of your current setup of what your using with the air windows plugins, i would be really interested to see how you would use these in conjunction with each other. Not explanations of all of them of course, just like a general overview of using a few of them together, no pressure of course brother, would just be really interested to see how the you would go about using all these things together. But regardless, loving the sound of this, very smooth highs excited to see where these consoles will turn out

Hey Chris! At ~4:38 the cation says you wrote a software in Godot to experiment with reverb algos. Is it written in C# or GDScript?
@airwindows6 күн бұрын
In fact it's written in GDScript and uses a graphics object to keep track of what's really just a giant array :) I could probably revisit that to run way more efficiently, seeing as it takes so long to generate good algorithms and test them.
@Vegan_Kebab_In_My_Hand6 күн бұрын
@@airwindows Interesting, thanks for the answer! I wouldn't have expected GDScript being the answer, although I do like it as language for solo gamedev.

This does sound useful, I have to try it. Does this make one sample hits get a slight sound vibe variation (nonlinear,saturation,modulation) from each hit? Or is there a plugin that does this? Trying to make some edrum not sounding too static.
@airwindows7 күн бұрын
I think it'll probably be more predictable, but then used on the ContentID track in meltdown mode, it really sounded like it was bringing something chaotic to the table. So it might be able to help? I'm working on something to do exactly this but it'd involve playing a syndrum sound in on a keyboard with velocity and aftertouch, and that by definition is the opposite of static because it won't be sequenced at all.

updated hiphop samplers bitcrushing coming next?
@airwindows7 күн бұрын
Correct. I have some ideas about repurposing my control surface's joystick parametric EQ section to do that. It would be a novel approach to it as far as I know: I'm not aware of anybody else doing what I'm proposing with that. (and no, BezEQ itself is a frequency crusher, not a bitcrusher)
