Bunkers in my city are junk. Either grass patches, water, mud, or solid ground. What should be done with these? I've also noticed the course fairways are significantly smaller. I'm guessing they are trying to save on monthly maintenance costs.

So if a bunker is hard and compact you would need to be careful about using too much bounce. I would keep the face more square and use more leading edge. It would mean a more precise contact is needed but if you open the face and use too much bounce then this could just “bounce” the club over the ball if it’s that hard and cause bad contact. So play around with a more square club face.

@@user-xu4dg8yd4h hey thanks for the feedback. I currently have a 3-4 year old epic speed in my bag but am def looking to upgrade it to something new soon. I’m quite precious with drivers and will only swap mine out for something that makes a big difference and looks and feels great.

Hey thanks for the comment. I’ve never used the gem training aid but my understanding is that it trains a release of the club face to help square it up at impact. My personal preference is for the club face to match the spine angle rather than be toe up, for me this is square.I would always look to fundamentals prior to using training aids, mainly grip in the case of a slicer. That said used correctly training aids can work. I use the straightaway by Leadbetter with some of my students to train the takeaway feel. Happy to take a look, if you follow me on Skillest you get a free analysis.
