Hi. Do you use the Garnier micellar water as a first or a last step in cleaning your face?? Is it safe to leave on the face?? Thanks in advance.

Mind blown 🤯 Follow for more #micellarwaterhacks @uglyducklingskincare my hubby has been looking for a solution to clean our white car seats for a while, and all the “car cleaning” products weren’t cutting it. So I thought l, let’s try the micellar water! We didn’t expect this to work as well as it did I am shocked! I’m going to test other micellar waters for this series next. How this works: You need a cotton pad or reusable pad to soak up the micellar water first! Then you wipe gently. No need to wash after but if you want to “double cleanse” you absolutely can. #carcleaning #carinterior

looking into my future if I stop using SPF! my fave kind of event is one that combines skincare with technology and science! It’s so cool to see how your aging changes depending on whether you use sun protection or not - the results floored me! I never skip SPF, but this is all the more reason to stay consistent with my sunscreen and skincare routine!

Don’t leave France without picking up these amazing beauty staples 🇫🇷💕🙌 Normal Store: I love the one in Marsielle, but they have them all over. It’s a cool store with lots of affordable skincare, makeup, and haircare products. I would go here just to see what they have, and pick up a few things that catch your eye! Pharmacy: these are all over France, you can’t really go wrong. I found Paris had the best prices, especially the busier stories. Is the shopping experience great? no. It feels a little crammed and it can be super busy with tourists. That beig said, you can find some amazing deals, especially for Caudile and Nuxe. I didn’t go wild with SPF because I knew I was going to Japan and Korea, but I already have guides on my faves! Longer reviews are already on my feed! Hope this helps, happy shopping!

Pt 2: controversial but…what do you think about the sunscreen one?! Follow @uglyducklingskincare for beauty and skincare content! This is part 2 of skincare things I’m doing / not doing in pregnancy and why 👇 1) I am NOT avoiding chemical sunscreens, because the evidence isn’t compelling that they cause any issues, and my thoughts are any sunscreen is better than no sunscreen. My dermatologist and OBGYN both told me that my skin would be more sensitive during pregnancy, especially in the summer, so wearing spf is a must! If you prefer to stick with mineral ones, that’s totally your call! I have faves across both and alternate depending on the day or how I’m feeling. 2) with pregnancy comes major sweating…seriously, buckets. 🪣 I’ve been using antiperspirant at night - my fave one is from @vichylaboratoires and it’s made a world of difference for me! 3) I know, with pregnancy comes dry lips for some, but you should never apply aquaphor or Vaseline to your lips before going out in the sun (this is a general rule), since it could cause a nasty sunburn, especially if you aren’t wearing sunscreen! Instead, use a hydrating lip balm with sun protection included! Let me know if you want any reccos! 4) I am sticking to my normal skincare routine and really emphasizing brightening products that are helping me target hyperpigmentation and old acne marks. I’m so glad I’ve kept this part the same given so many other changes! It’s always best to consult your obgyn & dermatologist at this time, which I did with mine, along with doing some of your own due diligence as well. It all comes down to your own risk tolerance, and you should always do what feels right for you. Hope this is helpful! Follow for beauty and skincare content!

this is magic 🪄 follow for more #micellarwater hacks @uglyducklingskincare We already know this makes a great double cleanser, and can clean your makeup brushes, but have you tried THIS?! 😱👀👟 How it works: - grab your micellar water - I love the @garniercan @garnierusa one! - soak a reusable pad with it - press it gently to the area you want to clean for a second or so - then start wiping! No word of a lie, double cleansing my sneakers took me less than 5 mins from dirty to passably sparkly!! Would you try this?!

Doesnt mean I won’t try tho 😂TIPS THAT MAY ACTUALLY HELP: I have read that keeping the area hydrated, so you don’t itch, can help! I also read articles that show some benefit of hyaluronic acid and cica in helping - so it doesn’t hurt to try! We have enough to feel bad about without feeling like stretch marks can be prevented, AND they are completely normal! 🔗Useful article for further reading: www.aad.org/public/cosmetic/scars-stretch-marks/stretch-marks-why-appear 💭Some highlights from the article: If you want to try one of these creams, lotions, or gels to fade stretch marks, be sure to: * Use the product on early stretch marks. Treatment seems to have little effect on mature stretch marks. * Massage the product into your stretch marks.Taking time to massage the product gently into your skin may make it more effective. * Apply the product every day for weeks. If you see results, they take weeks to appear. don’t let brands fool you into thinking there is a magic cream or method to prevent stretch marks, whether you get them or not is largely based on genetics.

As a tip, make sure to target the underside of your belly. That's where most stretch marks will start from and sometimes you can't see they're forming (understandably since it gets harder and harder to see under your belly as pregnancy progresses). Stretch marks are beautiful and mine remind me of my baby every time I see them. Congrats mama!

While part of it does stem from the Asian obsession to be fair it’s also important to know that A.UV ray is strong in Japan and B.east Asian skin is structurally different than Caucasian skin and is prone to sun damage compared to others (according to a dermatologist). Avoiding strong sun rays help lessen the risk of getting a heatstroke too, it causes quite some deaths and hospitalization in Japan for the summer. (The obsession to be pale is not as brutal as the rest of the world thinks anyways😅)

navigating skincare products and ingredients in pregnancy doesn’t have to be overwhelming! It’s always best to consult your obgyn & dermatologist at this time, which I did with mine, along with doing some of your own due diligence as well! It all comes down to your own risk tolerance, and you should alway do what feels right for you! The ingredients that are “off limits” are normally retinoids (specifically vitamin A), and hydroquinone, among other treatments. I’ve also read to avoid salicylic acid, which hasn’t been an issue for me since I prefer other ingredients for my acne. Overall, my skincare routine has stayed the same, and I’ve even added a belly care routine to the mix! What’s your skincare routine like in pregnancy? Are there any ingredients you’re avoiding?
