The volume is terrible. I have my computer, and the channel up to FULL volume, and I still can barely hear you; any other channel I watch I have almost on silent. You might want to make a new video, since there are only 6 views, and perhaps increase the lighting as well, as I can't really see the finished product very well. Thanks for your time, and thanks for trying to give us an informational video.

I did this about 45 years ago....before youtube, & I haven't a clue how I learned how to do it. Just planning to start reusing this reel for this season & use my fixed spool for lure fishing or feeder fishing only. I bet I won't be as successful as I was back in the 70's!

Thanks for a great video. Just picked up a 506 and this is a real help to understand the workings. Would love to see how you would do a full service on one of these if you get the chance.

Its a chenille pipe cleaner that I experimented with as an alternative to the standard stuff. Originally used to prevent the line from being caught behind the bell housing. I chose the brightest colour possible so that it would stand out if dropped in the grass while fishing.

Got bit of play on the handle . How can that be sorted ?
@agfishing4898
@agfishing4898 2 жыл бұрын
Take it apart: 1: Is everything done up tight inside? 2: Examine the brass bush in the handle, I've seen them wear. Cheap to buy off eBay, or size up and match with one from a bearing supplier. 3: Look at the gears. If worn, possible to buy new old stock, but might be cheaper to buy another and make one out of 2. I've not come across one where the gears were badly worn personally.

I have 2 of these. On the housing on the same side as the reel handle is a black button that pushed forward allows for both back wind and.forward wind, the modification in this video is separate to that function??

Yes, it sounds like you may have a different model (maybe a 1044?). In this case, the mod is not needed.

Thank you for a great video series. I bought one of these in 13' in about 1985 and it is still mint and my pride and joy. I've never used a better rod for trotting. Cheers

Interesting details that you want to send us but know that the sound is too low which makes it impossible to understand certain details. I think this sound should be increased, otherwise it's a waste of work. Good luck

Hello,i have both reels Jaguar and Sharky also one more cheapest reel that is Tsurinoya Nano. In the past i try also with other chinese brand like Seaknight and Piscifun. But I can assure you that Tsurinoya is in another level compared with other Chinese brand or simply the best choice. For 50$ you can being able to have a jewel in your hand like Jaguar reel that in my opinion is much better like reels from Shimano on that price range or even higher. So im very happy that i can find this fantastic brand with cheap prices. Also i recommend lures from Tsurinoya brand. Now i want to try with the Tsurinoya Brown Bear reel that is full metal body for a heavy spinning.

Thanks for the feedback, I've a 101 excuses, but not done a final video 6 yet. Its on the way, I've just to to get hold of some cork sealer for the handles and was saving up for a larger order from Guides and Blanks as my next order has 10% discount! To answer your question, for this rod, I did put on 2 layers of epoxy, as I've come to the point that for a larger surface (so thicker blank section, more whipping, etc), I cannot get a decent finish with one thicker layer and I'm manually turning the rod while its drying. Thinner sections and small rings, it seems that one coat is enough (check out the Mach 2 Boron video and the spliced tip)

@@agfishing4898 Thanks for reply, I built my first rod 4yrs ago when I went on a rod building course, well worth it. Sadly I have been to wrapped up with work to get into it but have now retired and I hope to put the important lessons I had into practice. Keep up the good work my appetite for this has been wet again.👍

Very well done video 👍 I haven't seen those particular slip rings for holding the reel to the cork you showed on the first rod. These are the only graphite ones I have seen around here: www.mudhole.com/Graphite-Slip-Ring?custcol21=433&gclid=CjwKCAiAxp-ABhALEiwAXm6IyVDFed5GSnYwWhvng4J21FPKQY5rDRRGprqtMIeyMomL1eLMY_H31hoC8jYQAvD_BwE The ones you showed look different unless my eyes are playing tricks on me. Do you know what brand they are or where you can find them?

The plastic reel fittings are called Reelfit, they are better than the metal ones. Only reference I could find was somebody selling them on eBay. Guides and Blanks had these, which look a lot like the ones that were used by the UK tackle company Drennan until they moved to the winding type.. www.guidesnblanks.com/p/grs_sliding_reel_seat
