The fishermen's pants are called "chest waders" in the US. The kind that are just very long boots reaching up to the hip are called "hip waders." I'm impressed with your local and upstream neighbors - most streams near where I live (Seattle, in the USA) would have produced many times that amount of plastic & metal garbage. I'm very glad that the drone, the Ford, Ida, Simba and yourself are all doing well. :)

I could see and feel your worry and concern, Matthias, and I'm happy you are now fine and that the fires didn't reach you. I was driving through the midst of all that with Nuno last week, and it reminded me of living in California ... which is essentially on fire like that, somewhere, all year round now. I thought I was getting away from all that ... hahaha ... silly me.

Glad you escaped the fires. Cleaning up the land and keeping a tree free perimeter from homes is a must. Those sheep help too. Got caught up in the fires in Viseu and again on my return to Porto. Very scary. Hope Ida gets better❤.

@@lisacraig4585 Thank you. Yes wildfires are very scary, but strangely i was at no point afraid the fire would touch my farm. Ida is ok for now, she started esting again. She still has issues with her hund legs that won't go away, but as long as she eats all is fine.

I am very sorry to hear that Ida(sp?) has been feeling poorly. I hope being home in familiar surroundings again helps her to enjoy those things she still can enjoy. I know this must be rough on you, too - I'll be thinking of you with sympathy & warmth.

Ola’Mattias on your dog pool remove The metal pipe and put down a layer of sand and leveling it in the sand so it does not move and fill up 👍 ✌️🤙❤️🇵🇹❤️

Thanks for the tip with the sand. Simba does use it, but only for walking through and drinking. Although that is also all he dies in the river ;-)

Maybe use some big tie-wraps to pull the plastic around the edge? Not the most beautiful way maybe. But it will do the job, i think.

I do not collect the rain water, because i have a lot of water in my well (never dried up) and i also have now a borehole that could produce 30.000 liters of water in an hour (but my pump only can pump 3.600 liters an hour).

Always great to see your home (and surrounding areas) Matthias, your various projects and your progress. I had a few thoughts about your poor man's pool. 1. If you want to be lower in the water, you could shorten the legs on the chair. 2. Perhaps you could leverage some weight or tension on the plastic edging that would pull it over the bar as you heat it. (I would also caution you on heating and cooling the plastic too much, as I 'think' it may make the plastic harder and more brittle, risking cracking and breaking.) 3. If you use the frame for Ida's pool as it was designed (put the plastic inside the frame, even if it still slides a bit, it will be contained AND supported, [and the water weight should keep it from sliding so much - maybe at all]], and you could cut the 'legs' sticking up, down below the plastic line to avoid inadvertent impaling. 🤪😅 Whatever you decide to do, as always, I wish you great success.

wrap some metal wire around the top of the ibc tank and connect the earth of a arc welder then stick a welding rod to it as well that would soon warm up provide as much heat as you need to bend the rim ?

Great idea, but i do not have an arc welder. Wondering if that would probably melt the metal rim? I only want to bend the plastic over that metal rim.
