Fun fact emerkuls mindslayer trigger was supposed to be an etb if you cast it not a cast trigger, the just never caught it till it was to late. There was a big pre release event I was at where one of lead designers of magic was there watching people play and someone countered one and they go to do the mindslaver trigger he goes wait a minute reads the card and goes this is supposed to and etb if you cast it, even showed photos of play testing where that was the case, they were dumb founded they missed it but that’s a small thing not as bad as not testing nadu or the one ring

Fun list! Proxied it and immediately won 2 matches. Throughts on amped raptor vs dreadhorde tho?? I turned zero Dreadhordes sideways...they just get removed. ETB that also casts 2cmc spells vs does nothing and dies??

This deck losing to Sanctifier En-vec very badly. Need 4 pyro. I run 4 sanc in my main board and I have played this type of deck. I always 2-0 it :/

Vec is played in maybe 4 decks as sidebaording options at the moment. But I don't know why you say more Pyroclasm... it has pro red, it will not die to it. If vec becomes a problem for you. Run Ghostfire or some sort of devoid removal.

Wait, is there a major bug in MTGO? With the now Combat Damage Assignment Ruling you are not able to order blockers, that is true, but you should have been able to assign two damage to the Frog and zero to the Token. The difference in the new and old ruling is just that you can split damage between all blockers now instead of killing the blockers in the assigned order first.

If u cant order blockers you cant chose where damage goes. It auto goes to creature that blocked it first, then rest damagae go to 2nd blocker.

@@dack_fayden0789 But that's not how the new ruling goes. The new ruling lets you assign combat damage to each creature as you want. If you are not able to assign it as you want it's either a but on MTGO or something wrong with your client.

Claim/fame would be better here but i generally dislike unearth without some 3 mana creatures in deck. I brewed new Alesha Rakdos build which plays unearth tho and its also working out sweet so far.

Turn inside out seems like a good card with Scamp. 1 red instant, target creature gets +3/0 and then manifest dread when it dies.

Match 2 game 1 , they had no red permanent so their ajani would not have dealt lethal

Some1 pointed out they can + ajani and use guide ability for lethal. Maybe that is why i concede. Hard to remember post game when going through replay.

@FalloutFan011 ring getting banned will only make that worse but also make the combo decks better because the only sort of control would be frog. I don't care if ring gets banned, but something else also needs to get banned for energy to not be the default #1 deck by more than three times the next most popular deck

Kiora is much better with Goryo then Persist. I'm working on new Goryo's deck. Soon.

I still think Goryo's is better simply because end phase instant speed reanimate is too strong and can do it with FoN protection and way more card advantage because of Atraxa. But if Reanimate as a spell was legal, this deck would be insane. Obviously no Daze/FoW like legacy, but the card quality in Modern is high enough where it would probably be meta.

@@BugioPimposo idk, some of those spells are pretty good, especially mutagenic growth and one that makes creatures 6/4, but prob can work in mono red.

@@dack_fayden0789 We could still run mutagenic growth by paying life, but scale up wouldn't be possible anymore. Since copying it with only one creature on the field doesn't change much, I think that losing it wouldn't be that bad. Having the mana base as mono r would make the deck much more budget friendly =)

Not sure if it was brought up or not but what are the thoughts on serum powder in the deck? For a deck so reliant on the opening hand and having a couple of dead draws in the deck doesn't sound the worst. Not sure if it is worth I wonder if it would be worth to opt in for gemstone cavern to make the leyline resonance hands stronger, prob not but this theory space is interesting.

The obvious issue with powder is that its a dead draw. While it can theoretically be a good inclusion you could be forced to powder hands that you wouldnt normally want to powder, and you can end up drawing them over actual gas cards.
