I have your older TG 6000. Does the new unit have more dynamic range?

Do you have any plans for a lower freq range sig gen. 24MHz is too high for most of my applications. 100KHz - 2Ghz would be more helpful to the Ham radio crowd. Another option that would be very helpful is dual gens from the same enclosure for various test procedures for receiver and transmitter performance. Still using the DSI tracking gen I bought last year for my filter alignment work. No issues thus far. A little more dynamic range would be helpful occasionally but I suspect the issues are related to the 8566B more so than to the tracking gen Have there been any updates to the TG since I bought my unit? I hope your sales have been good. The 8566B, in my opinion, is possibly the best analog SA ever. It is a super work horse and steady as a phase locked ROCK...LOL.. Regards, Glenn Scott DSM Labs

Just a follow up. I have been using the TG6000 for over 6 months and have been very pleased. The 8566B is an awesome spectrum analyzer and beyond most of my needs. Lacking a tracking generator was my only complaint with the instrument. At the time the TG6000 became ready I almost bought a Rigol SA just to have the a TG for my filter work. The TG6000 was far less expensive and allowed me to save a little real estate in my lab by NOT buying another instrument. Not to mention allowing me to stay proficient on one spectrum analyzer instead of 2 very different units. The TG6000 has worked flawlessly and allowed me to resolve some unforeseen faults in one of my filter designs.. I am excited about your new digital attenuation and that will probably be the next purchase. Glenn Scott DSM Labs (dot com)

Very Helpful video..I am still learning a few tricks with my DS Instruments TG6000 tracking generator and my HP-8566B Spectrum analyzer I appreciate the support and recommendations as I was considering the purchase and after I had it up and running in my lab. VERY NICE Product giving my 8566B new utility. Thanks. Glenn DSM Labs (dot com)
