What a fabulously original and powerful song this is. Roy Wood is a bona fide pop genius.

One of Roy Wood's most beautiful tunes. Simply gorgeous! I believe that Nicky Hopkins played harpsichord on this recording and the string arrangement was by Tony Visconti.

Great song! This would have made a great single in early 1968.

I was just 13 when they brought "Even in the quietest moments", my elder sister showed me Crisis and Crime and I was full on fire. Before I knew good beatles and a bit of stones, but this crashed me out. I found - still 13 - the albums Supertramp an Indelibly an yet on age 60 I'm still in love with this 5 Albums. Never heard better music, before I went to PUNK on age 16.

I like the remake better; a lot more slow tempoed and thought-provoking

First heard that song played at a jam session at a pub in Liverpool around 1988. Great song, not sure of the history but someone told me it was related to the Civil War. Don McLean is the only recording of the song that I have heard, nice restrained banjo accompaniment.

Po letech si říkám, že se snažili dokázat Lynnovi, že ELO může fungovat i bez něj. A podle mého názoru to zvládli nadmíru brilantně. Mimochodem, slyším toto album dnes poprvé v životě :) (eng.: After the years I think they tryied to show Lynne that, ELO can work also without himself. And in my opinion they did it really good. Btw, I hear this LP for a first time in my life at this time :)
