100% incorrect. 55-57s all have the same body panels. The easiest way to differentiate them is by the quarter panel trim. This one is most definitely a ‘57.

A new A-DIY vid! Weed whacker repair video-do it! Like. Share. Subscribe! We rented an F-150 for a recent trip and, besides the behemoth size, I did not like all of the tech. I'm sure companies are drooling over the day they can lock you out of tinkering with your own car because you didn't pay your technician's subscription fee. Worse, I'm sure they're going to love remotely bricking your vehicle, maybe for making online content about something you _thought_ you owned, that they didn't like.

They have you paying subscriptions on heated seats and other amenities that are already in the car but you have no access too it’s crazy all that’s coming down the pipeline.

That’s strange idk why that would be. Design change maybe the wrong chain gotta look at a manual form that specific car and see if there’s a change or difference. Thanks for watching, please like and subscribe if you haven’t already.
@hotrod8915Ай бұрын
It's a 2005 with the old style phasers. The cts came in as a no start with low compression on all 6 cyl.. The first thing I checked was the timing chain. Replaced that, and it still has low compression. I'm pulling the heads tomorrow. I suspect the rings may be worn since all 6 cylinders have low compression. Bank 1 has about 60 psi, bank 2 in the low 100psi.
@angelsautomotivediyАй бұрын
If you have a borescope, try to take a look and see if the valves are bent before you pull the heads because if it jumped timing too far it’s an interference engine and if you bend them valves you’ll see the marks on the Pistons or you’ll see the valves, not seating properly with a scope. It’ll save a bunch of time.
@hotrod8915Ай бұрын
@angelsautomotivediy the timing was correct on the old chain, and it wasn't very loose. I've seen 3 valve tritons with the chains loose enough to slip over the cam gears and still run. The customer bought the car not running because the seller said it just needed a chain. 6 bent valves are unlikely, and it has 60-100psi on all cylinders. I'm thinking burnt exhaust valves or rings. Something that will effect all 6 cylinders. Thanks for responding, man. It's also slow to build up compression. It takes a few extra revolutions to get the compression high enough to move the needle on the guage.

That’s very true and it feels like that with just about all the sports franchises at least here. I haven’t been to a Knick game at the Garden in quite a while. Don’t even ask about a Ranger game. I have to see them when y hey play the Nets at Barclay. It’s cheaper to go there, but the concessions are ridiculously expensive same with the Ranger games. I used to buy all four games when they were at the Colosseum so I could see the Rangers but never able to get them in, the garden because just too much but now with UBS Arena, I haven’t been there yet. My son has gone. He tells me it’s very expensive also like Barclays who knows when I’ll see the Rangers next, but they are definitely pricing everybody out. The baseball games are basically the easiest games to see, but this is not the norm for anybody to be able to sustain.

Clock an alternator???
@angelsautomotivediy2 ай бұрын
Yes sir, sometimes when you get an alternator out of the box the plug isn’t where it needs to be. So you loosen the bolts on the case and rotate the case (clock it) so the plug is where you need it. Remember the alternator can fit in multiple vehicles. Thanks for the comment and view please like and subscribe if you haven’t already.

2014 buick enclave owner with 101K miles on it. The engine still strong the main key is regular oil change DON'T GO OVER 5K MILES in between oil changes, actually I'm planning to start doing it at 4K. I good friend of mine GM technician advice me to don't go by the oil life monitoring computer from the vehicle it would be to long in between oil changes. Dont forget to service the PCV valve
@angelsautomotivediy2 ай бұрын
Staying on top of the oil changes and maintenance is very important with any engine but especially with these to keep the oil passages clean and the vvt solenoids as well. However the chain stretch can’t be prevented by oil changes. The chains on these are a wear item and will have to be changed at some point and you’re nearing that milestone. Thanks for the view and the comment please like and subscribe if you haven’t already take care.

I bought a used GMC Acadia 2008 a couple years ago... Had an Engine light then been driving fine all this time. Did a scan and tossing P0014 and P0017 think this is basically this issue. What happens if I don't do this repair? Is it worth fixing what does this cost to do? I wanna get my Engine light off so I can use my command start.
@angelsautomotivediy2 ай бұрын
If you don’t do the repair eventually you’ll damage the engine either the chain will snap and you’ll see all the fun that causes or it’ll jump timing altogether and not run or run poorly if it’s bad enough the valves might touch the pistons. That’s bad lol. I’m always a repair kind of guy but it all depends on if the chassis and body is ok and not rotted out your In Canada so I know you guys pain being in the rust belt myself. As far as cost figure about $2000 US plus if you find a shop that will do it .

great video, continuing to watch it but just a comment at around 5:00 in you talk about LEFT and RIGHT banks, but then you refer to the RIGHT BANK (closest to firewall) as the LEFT BANK or did I misunderstand? I always get confused between LEFT and RIGHT BANKS when they call out things like O2 Sensors and use the BANK1/BANK2 terminology...I understand in that context BANK1 is the bank where #1 cylinder is located, so there's that. I just wish the OEM's would be consistent and with cars having both longitudinal and transverse mounted engines just stop using the old LEFT/RIGHT nomenclature and stick with the BANK1/BANK2 when it comes to engine orientation...but that's just me lol thanks for doing video, great job!
