Great vid. I like the 3.6 V6 engine. I have been using HPR 5 5w-40 synthetic for a long time in my 2008 60th anniversary Commodore which now has done 300k on the original chain. I have drilled out the crank case valve at the back as that is a common blockage for the left bank breathing properly. I have been doing oil changes every 10k and oil filter every 5k because it is easy and cheap. My uncle that owned the car before me did the same. There is a whisp of blue smoke on first startup of the morning and uses a little oil over a period of 5k. Should I move it up to HPR 10 Synthetic or a 5w-50 synthetic? I do quite a bit of hill and mountain driving with some towing these days. Regards, Jas.

You didn't show how you put the glass in the door!
@angelsautomotivediy21 күн бұрын
I get that comment often, but I did not show it because it’s very simple to slide in, the regulators out-of-the-way. You’re just gonna slide the glass into the tracks all the way up use suction cups to hold it up like you see in the video or tape and then put it back together what’s more important than that is the clips how they go on and what orientation that I show you in the video as well The sliding in part I didn’t even think that it would be questioned. It’s very simple. if you do it or have to, you’ll see it’s not hard to figure out at all. Thanks for the view and the comment. Take care.

Until she drives away and in 3 blocks gets into closed loop and returns p0017 for correlation bank 1 sensor b .. This motor Must be timed in two stages to insure your phasers are clocked correctly with the gear
@angelsautomotivediyАй бұрын
Yeah, no that car has been repaired for a few years already no code no correlation codes. It’s just fine thanks for the comment anyway..
@213BRANDONPАй бұрын
@angelsautomotivediy ok well I'm not saying it to be rude the phaser works by rotating the gear in relation to the cam so say you have a phaser in the fully advanced state when you apply your chain this will cause your motor to start and run fine due to the ability of the phaser to adjust however the moment it tries to go to a retarded state it maxes out and you get a correlation code .. The purpose of multi stage is to reset the phaser to its tdc position there is a chance you can get lucky and your cams end up this way but you're relying on dumb luck and I'm happy it worked for you but it's not a great idea to recommend others to do so without explaining the risks (in my opinion at least) .
@angelsautomotivediyАй бұрын
@@213BRANDONPNo one got lucky here it was done and done correctly many many people do not do the two stage timing as GM you use your cam locks line up your marks rotate the engine then rotate it back and recheck your marks. Watch my tips video on this very job. As with many many many jobs you don’t always follow every exact step you can get the job done in many less steps with experience etc. I also didn’t job with the motor in the car many remove the whole engine to do the chains more than one way to skin a cat. In fact go watch the cloyes video on this job and you’ll see they don’t even time it in two stages.

I have a 2007 Chevrolet Captiva LTZ 3.2L V6. Got it from an elderly couple living in an old age home, about 50k km on the clock. Did an alignment and oil change. Car gets going fast. Unfortunately my timing change is probably poop right now and she's not starting, she's spinning straight. Chevrolet isn't very common in south africa(I'm south african) so it's really difficult for me to get it fixed correctly. I'm currently doing research so i can educate myself. This engine is very tricky

Again the Yankees get all the calls. They scored the winning run after the call was upheld at 2nd when the runner was clearly out. Then in the ninth inning Bobby Witt Jr. should have walked putting one of the fastest players in MLB at first base with one out. Instead he was called out on a pitch that was clearly below the strike zone. FTY.

@gphilipc2031 yep! You must stay on top of regular routine oil change. Every vehicle engine loves a clean, good quality oil. Neglect, and you will have issues down the road if left unchanged for a very long time.

Camshafts removed from passenger side but not driver side. Timing never changed there. Now trying to find timing on passenger. Already into the situation of the chain marks not lining up anymore on driver side. Will top dead center always make sure the camshafts are where they are supposed to be in the sequence even if the chain marks don't match up? And does setting the chain marks correctly on the passenger side mean it's not in time if the marks aren't also lined up on the driver side? Thanks
@angelsautomotivediy4 ай бұрын
Ok I’m assuming your primary chain wasn’t touched either. So the drivers side and primary should be ok but you should try to check. The color links are there to assist you however the marks are physically there. So with that being said, put number one cylinder at top dead center that would have everything lined up properly and then you’re gonna have to line up the marks on the cams on the passenger side, which is where number one cylinder is the good thing is you can rotate the motor around without having to worry about hitting the valves because you have the cams removed you said, so get that to TDC then put the cams back in line up the marks very carefully lock the cams and put the chain on count the links if you count the link that on the mark it will be 12 if you count in between it’ll be 10 then rotate the engine forward by hand a few rotations then backwards to see the marks all lineup and you should be OK from that point. Thanks for the view and comment. I hope this helps you out please like and subscribe if you haven’t already.
