When you use Legos for review how many do you reward them with when they answer a question? Just one at a time?

I’ve been using legos almost every review time and I just talk to them and individually ask. The abecedarians in our community this year are all four or five, so that first year can be a lot for them. When they are able to answer, verbal encouragement has been better than any stickers or other rewards I’ve given. (Hope this helps!) And also, I have found Mrs. C’s videos invaluable!

This is my first year tutoring a Masters class. Out of 8 kids, 4 are pretty much brand new to CC. For Timeline, do you have any suggestions for what to do for a group with so many Masters who are new to CC? Would you still recommend the Bomb Game? Or do you have another suggestion for an activity for the Masters to become familiar with the Timeline song and hand motions?

I think the Bomb game is great for any age/ability really! It’s ok that they don’t know the song- I would tutor up to the kids that have been in CC a while encouraging the new ones to participate as much as they can. Remember you are just giving ideas to the parents on ways they can work on the material at home- and I’ll bet you’ll be surprised how quickly the new kids pick it up

Hi there ! I love your videos. I had a question and wasn’t sure how to message you so commenting here. I’ve seen you use little toy guitars for the little ones sometimes for history songs. Do you have any suggestions or where to look for best price ? I’m thinking Dollar Tree but if there’s another place let me know. Oh also those funny fingers that they wear sometimes ?

Yes the dollar tree is where I found the little guitars. They often have acoustic and electric ones. The finger puppets I have found at lots of different places but I think the ones you are asking about I found at target in the party favor aisle.

I really just find mine by searching the forums, the tutor Facebook page and the tutor band page! I have accumulated a lot of ‘props’ over my 7 years of tutoring. Just start with a couple games and then add as needed’

Sorry for the late reply! There is a file in the forum from sherriellis that has all the different wheels and blank ones! Just look up her name and math and you should be able to find it. Hope that helps!
