Sounds great and interesting. This and the Kobol expander are the 2 I am considering buying. They both are different from the countless 3340 clones.

Delish! Love those sounds the M15 makes, been playing around with it through DelVerb. They are using better capacitors on M15 than, say the model d. Much better impulse response. I would love Super Massive in a pedal, or audio via USB on the M15. Why oh why don't they add that. There is the ADC onboard for the spring reverb. It should be super simple to add the stream to USB. Both the input to, and output of the V1000 effects.

Thanks for commenting!!! In my case it will be difficult to make a Model15 vs ModelD since I sold mine years ago. I'm left with only the Pulse 2 and the Roland SE02.

@@dtekproduk No worries. In your opinion, even then it’s been a while, does the Model-15 sound similar to the D?

The Pulse 2 makes it easier to find what you want out of an instrument for sequencing purposes, but the Model 15 gives you access to multiple modules for modular synthesis, which is what it is for, and it gives you a bunch of modules in a single semi-modular unit, which is what makes it awesome!
@SubtronikАй бұрын
I think the Model 15 sounds chunkier, and for the price it’s a no brainer. Does your Model 15 have the S/H problem?
@JasonArendАй бұрын
I was about to ask the same thing. My unit definitely has issues. I should have the diode I need delivered in a couple days to try Behringers suggested fix. The Model 15 sounds even better in person until you quickly run in to the S/H problem.
@dtekprodukАй бұрын
Yes, mine also has the S&H problem... I will return it.
@SubtronikАй бұрын
@@dtekproduk bummer.. sorry to hear that. At least Behringer offers 2 solutions, but one could risk harming your Model 15 and the other could mean waiting for a month or more for a replacement.

Great video. I love your workflow and process of the comparison. I have a suggestion: maybe an overlay text displaying which synth is currently monitored or no graphic effects over the mixer buttons. It was a little difficult to follow along but I really enjoyed the speed and brevity. Anyhow, thanks for the video.

Very nice! Can you try out if sample&hold works on your unit, eg. by patching S&H to OSC CV? It seems to be defect on at least some. I've made a video of the broken Model 15 I received last week here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/aoTTnoKNot16rqMsi=4q100a5V5ulH1i1C
@dtekprodukАй бұрын
The S&H on my unit works the same way you show in your video. It seems to work at an extremely high rate, right? I understand that this speed should be controllable with the LFO RATE, right?
@valuemasteryАй бұрын
@@dtekproduk Thanks for checking. It seems to be defectice on every delivered unit so far, from what I can tell. You are right, the speed can be controlled either by the LFO rate knob, or external sync. And it kind if works at very high speeds, but of course it's almost useless at these speeds. In most cases, with S&H, you'd want low speeds synchronized with a fraction or multiple of your bpm. Now I say "kind of works" at high speeds, because it's still not proper S&H there. The problem is that, from the "sample&hold", the "sample" stage works fine, but the "hold" stage is broken. So instead of holding the voltage, it quickly returns to zero Volt. This gives just short voltage spikes on slow speeds, as seen on the oscilloscope. At very high speeds, there simply is not enough time for the signal to return to zero, but it still goes down a bit instead being held constant.

@@valuemastery Hi, There is a response to this issue from Behringer in a Facebook group: "We are fully aware of this issue. It seems that some units have malfunctioning S/H circuitry due to a batch of transistors with different parameters, which caused this defect. We will be posting a quick fix soon for those who are comfortable making a simple modification. Alternatively, you can return the unit to your retailer. We apologize for the inconvenience and will ensure it is resolved. Mark"
