Is the rotor noise a common thing when running a feed? I Just got a new Coviden brand pump and it's making that sound constantly (but I never heard the hospital's pump making any sound).

ONLY take the blue cap off when you are connecting it to your CVL, vygone tubing etc. HUGE infection risk to just take that blue cap off if it’s not being directly connected to patient or other connections. Leave on until ready to connect. I even leave the end in the tubing bag while I prime for extra protection. 11 years no line infections cause I’m careful!!! Also, remove air in the bag with a sterile syringe to the right of the spike hole. Unless you want to go bat sh@t crazy with air in the line alarm going off every 5 minutes. Using an iv pole not an issue usually but if it’s going in a backpack you’ll want to get as much air out as possible.

So you took the blue cap offnthe end of the tubing before priming. Now your tip is contaminated.

I’m glad you show the priming as my bags don’t come pre spiked by the pharmacy. I just got my pump the other day as I was using gravity but I couldn’t leave the house with fluids going if I used gravity. I also don’t use home health because I do all of my own dressing changes (except for when I go to the cancer center once per month for my infusions) and I give me my own IV fluids and IV medications on my own since I was a medic and already trained. I just never used a Curlin before

This video is a lifesaver. My mom sent home TPN and the printed info was not very helpful. This video was very detailed and no one told us to even change the batteries when we change the bag. I was very nervous but now I feel very confident. THANK YOU!!!!!!!

How do you prime a dual bag. When I do it it primes water only. Then I have to run pump to prime food. My wife uses 50 ml per hour so it takes a long time to prime the food to the tip.
