They tried, and failed, as has been said. They tried to take the airport near Kyiv (10-15km from the city center). Their elite paratroopers actually did gain control of the airport against the small ~200 soldiers the UA had there, with the intention of airlifting tons of troops in. So Ukraine blew the runway to hell, rendering it useless 😂 Then the convoy coming from Belarus ran out of gas, as all top tier militaries do. I guess that information isn't available in Russia.
