Great video, I have 2 Czech GSD's and have the papers on the bloodline to prove it. I wanted a Czech GSD because i wanted a working class GSD rather then the American show line that have had their genetics messed up by to much inbreeding bread for looks over brains and personality and pray drive. but i am confused by watching this video. you said that east European shepherds were bred using German shepherds. Are mine considered eastern European shepherds since they came from Czechoslovakia? Well i should clarify both mine's parents came from Czechoslovakia threw Canada. I will have to say that they are great dogs. Not for couch potatoes for sure. Mine cercle me when i go out to meet a stranger in the driveway they are aloof watching me for cues. I don't know if they would protect me because i haven't been in a situation yet that they had to but by the way they act I suspect that they would if they needed to. Any way great video very enjoyable.

@@parachkevtodorov4388 Thanks, I didn't know that there was a dog breed named east European shepherd I was confused when he said they were created from GSD's and my GSD came from eastern Europe but I had just got up for the day to I understand now thanks.

@@flashpan26 The Eastern European Shepherd was bred in the USSR in the 1930s, it is a young breed. This breed of service dogs was created in the 1930s in the USSR for service in the Soviet army in various climatic conditions. The base breed for the breeding of the Eastern European Shepherd Dog was German Shepherds exported from Germany, to which the blood of local breeds of huskies and their mestizos, Great Dane and some other breeds flowed. The breed adopted its modern look in the 50s of the 20th century. The first standard, which fixed the breed type of the VEO, was approved in 1964. With the collapse of the USSR, the breed almost disappeared. In the 90s of the 20th century, there was a fashion for other dog breeds imported to Russia from Europe, with the fashion for everything Western, there was also a fashion for German Shepherds. They began to mix them with an eastern relative and almost destroyed the breed of Eastern European shepherds. As is often the case, only the efforts of the chosen ones enthusiasts helped to save the breed of Eastern European Shepherds from extinction. Currently, Eastern European Shepherds are gaining strength again, the number of breeders in Russia is growing, and the number of fans in all corners of the country and abroad is increasing. The standard was approved by the decision of the Presidium of the SOKO RCF dated 03/18/2020. Work is underway to recognize the breed in the International Cynological Federation.

@@_Verent what an awesome explanation thank you for taking the time to explain it to me in a nice way. I understand it now not confused any more and i wish the best for Eastern European Shepherds I hope they get the breed straightened out they are great looking dogs.

@@flashpan26 Yes, this is an amazing dog. I had both a German Shepherd and an Eastern European Shepherd, I can compare them, the Eastern European Shepherd is larger, according to the horakter, the Eastern European Shepherd is much calmer and more balanced, a well-trained VEO works better than a German, VEO will be good in any climatic conditions. The Eastern European Shepherd is not inclined to challenge leadership, he will protect the whole family, but he will have one owner, he is a smart dog, but education should not be allowed to take its course if you want to get an obedient guard. If you are looking for a good working dog, and not a dog for exhibitions, then the Eastern European Shepherd is preferable. Unfortunately, the Germans were very badly spoiled for the show, they became hysterical dogs with a booty almost touching the ground, a good working German is not so easy to find now.

I have a male and he is very protective of me and the family. Rarely leaves my side, guards my room at night. Defended me from a road rage attacker. And settled in and protected my daughter and her family when I was away for 5 days. Great dogs.

Remember, the puppy is a Cane Corso if its genetic tests show that they are Cane Corso. It does NOT matter what the AKC thinks. That is for how much you can sell your puppies for in the USA. ALL that matters is that the dog is healthy and is genetically a Cane Corso. Hahaha, the idea that some Cane Corso are not Cane Corso is so funny. Imagine someone saying you aren't a person because you don't have the right pattern of fur, lol.

While some seem to be outright wrong, what isn't precisely wrong seems to be confusing as people often expect social intelligence or puzzle solving, but kinetic understanding seems to be throwing off the composite score from what people are expecting. Even then, there doesn't seem to be a lot of consistency. Insofar as it was copied right (everyone recognized the mistake with the Doberman), no issue with the channel but that's an odd, seemingly inconsistent list. They appear to be switching off between some sort of composite score, social intelligence, kinetic intelligence, and puzzle solving.

I have 2 GSD's and I agree with you. As far as I am concerned, they are the perfect dog and the breed I will keep the rest of my life. I have the working line, but I take them out twice a day for a ball session 15 minutes each time and walks in the woods for a mile or two a couple of times a week. I take them camping, canoeing, and backpacking, and they love it. They don't call them German shedders for nothing lol, but It's nothing a good robovac can't handle. If you want a dog who is loyal, protective, gentle, and just your buddy then these dogs are great.

That's wonderful to hear! German Shepherds are indeed incredibly versatile and loyal companions. It sounds like you have a fantastic routine with your pups, keeping them active and engaged with various activities. Their adaptability and love for outdoor adventures make them exceptional companions for such activities. And yes, the German Shepherd's shedding is quite legendary, but as you mentioned, a good robovac can handle it. Enjoy your adventures with your amazing dogs!

Why have so many of them "croped" tails?
@PawsPlaysPP Жыл бұрын
Historically, dogs' tails were cut for practical reasons. For example, breeds that were used to fight wild animals or fight in the arena had their tails trimmed to reduce the likelihood of serious injury during battle. In addition, in some areas this was done to avoid injury from the tail when working on farms or hunting. Some owners choose to crop their Cane Corso's tails for various reasons, often based on historical traditions or even perceived health benefits. However, tail docking is a controversial practice and can cause discomfort or complications for the dog. Nowadays, in many places, tail docking is considered unnecessary and is even illegal in some regions. It's essential to respect and prioritize the well-being of our canine companions, focusing on their health and happiness.
@SK-je4so Жыл бұрын
Lots of cane corsos have "happy tail syndrome". It might cause lots of troubles if not docked. Like they literally hit the walls and everything so hard with their tail so it even starts bleeding sometimes

That may constantly hurt the dog

I have 2 that came with cropped tails and dew claws. I specifically asked for no alterations. I love their natural look. Although I do understand some prefer the aggressive cropped tail and ear look. To each their own I reckon...
