Max, first of all thanks for all the content this year - I had no interest in skiing now suddenly find myself joining the work ski trip next year! Secondly, the video from the shades is surprisingly good for what are probably very small sensors they give a great point of view! Hopefully the channel gets many more subscribers next year.

Related question: I’ll be in Orcières on Saturday which received around 40 cm of fresh snow. Will the pow still be powdery by then or will it have hardened already? I’ve never skied in pow before, so I’m hoping off piste areas will still be covered in pow

Hey Max. I hope your skis aren’t too damaged. Actually I bought some Atomic Panic (87 width under the foot) which I believe are quite similar to your Vantage skis. I’ve never tried mine yet (first outing with them planned next week in Orcières). I was wondering what was your opinion on your Atomic Vantage (first time I see you ski them I think). Are they good for off piste? If so why you use the Salomon BBR more often? Thanks in advance and thanks for your videos. Keep them coming ⛷️
@MaxMountainWorld19 күн бұрын
Hi. Thanks for your comment. I got a bit confused with this as it came up twice so I cancelled one and I think it was the one I replied to (DOH!). My Rossignol Smash7 skis are "all mountain", very light and manouvrable. My Atomic Vantage83 much the same but a bit easier at speed and a great progressive carve. Salomon BBR same again but amazing at speed especially on/in powder and also my goto-ski if I am not sure of conditions. Also no damage from my silliness! Enjoy your new skis and have fun in Orcières Merlette. It is a great resort. Cheers.
@rfreling9 күн бұрын
@@MaxMountainWorld I had a blast today in Orcières Merlette. Amazing scenic views all around. Great variety of slopes too. And I loved my new Atomic Panic 😍. Off piste wasn’t so great as the snow was very crunchy (south facing resort…). But I enjoyed it nonetheless. Can’t wait to try them in Les Orres next!!!
@MaxMountainWorld8 күн бұрын
@@rfreling Excellent stuff. Does that mean you are coming to Les Orres? Not been out skiing much since my early-season burst of activity in great snow. I was reading up on your skis. Nice, similar to my Vantage 83's, yes. I intend taking my GoPro12 out tomorrow and of course will be 1st-up-the-mountain 1/1/25, hopefully. Loads more Videos coming. Take care, have fun and a Happy New Year to you & yours'. Thanks for your Comments here, much appreciated. Cheers

I must admit I took over a quarter hour on this reply. Thanks but no, I don't want to take the risk of a crash-hat, small percentage increase in the weight my neck supports, 360 degree awareness, not limited by goggles & frames, a wee bit experience ( This is My 60th.Winter since I was first put on da planx ). Prevention before cure every time for me, not for everybody. No Cheers

Thanks. I have to keep Videos short as is possible/practical/usable for edit and upload speeds/times etc.... On a physical level, as every time!, I start season with limited physical preps i.e. leg muscles, especially thighs. As ever I ski ALOT and two to three weeks of blurting around the mountain is all the regular workout I need to progress a bit more mental.... Like my previous winter playlists, it IS Coming. Cheers

kzbin.info/www/bejne/qoGtY4VviN-djqcfeature=shared The Cairn seems to be closed due to a “mise en péril” (French procédure when a buildingn’a structure is deemed to be unstable and thus unsafe). Some work needs to be done on the big slab supporting the building (some leaks seem to have damaged it).
