Thank you! I finished reading The Silmarillion for the first time back in January and it was incredible! It's just as you said, a splendid history! The stories in there took my breath away many times. If you haven't read The Silmarillion illustrated by the author, I highly recommend that you do on your next re-read. :D It's an amazing edition! I hope you're enjoying your re-read of the Fellowship. I just finished re-reading The Hobbit yesterday and I am going to start on Fellowship today. I'm very excited because I haven't read LotR in a very long time! Thank you for stopping by!

@@wandsandwanderlust That's so cool! Sounds like an incredibly fulfilling experience. I would love to read the Silmarillion with Tolkien's illustrations! Keep up the good work!

Tolkien is definitely my favorite author of all time! Kipling and Shakespeare are neck-and-neck for 2nd place. I've read the Hobbit and LOTR, Unfinished Tales countless times and never tire of them. For other JRRT fans, two short stories, Smith of Wooton Major and Farmer Giles of Ham. Great works from the Master Storyteller!

I love Tolkien too! I've read The Hobbit a lot too and I'm right there with you. I never tire of it! I just finished reading the edition that was released last year, I believe, the one that is illustrated by Tolkien himself. I highly recommend that edition to fellow lovers of The Hobbit. It was a beautiful experience! I'm about to start LOTR again, I'm afraid I have forgotten a lot of the books so I am going to fix that soon. :) I have a big reading list of Tolkien books that I am really excited to get into, and I already had Unfinished Tales on my list but hadn't heard of the two short stories you mentioned. I'm adding them to my reading list. Thank you so much and happy reading!

@wandsandwanderlust Thank you for your reply! I found the paperback copy of the two short stories at a Mom-and- Pop second-hand store years ago. It's old, the pages are yellow ,but it's still a good read. Tolkien's works were so well written it's almost like "being there" when they're read. Not many author's works can do that. A literary genius!

@@deedeskin2439 What a good find! I love a tattered book! It shows the book was loved and they are also quite easy to handle when reading. You might not disagree the closer we get to dystopian experiences in this country. I do find it violent to leave people in the streets, exposed to the elements that, if we don’t address climate change, will only worsen. I could go on, but I also know where to spend my time wisely. I hope this video finds the people who are open to seeing the possibilities of our tax dollars to helping people instead of what we’re currently doing.
@greggreed38409 ай бұрын
@@wandsandwanderlust you do realize climate change is a hoax that only the those promoting it for the purpose of power and control believe in. You obviously have never experienced real violence if you thing someone living on the street is violence ( not amazingly this is most prevalent in leftist socialist/communist run cities.) Any dystopian happening are due completely to leftist policies and legislation.
@wandsandwanderlust9 ай бұрын
@@greggreed3840 let's pretend climate change is a hoax. It is not, but let me step into your reality in order to have a (brief) dialogue with you. So you don't think people being homeless is violent, because you don't believe in climate change, and the elements are livable enough, according to you. Is starvation not violent? And I'm not only talking about people that are currently homeless not having access to food. What about the children that go hungry every summer because they aren't in school? You can also add a long list of people who live in food deserts. It's a devastating reality how many people in this country don't even have basic human rights, such as access to food and housing.
@greggreed38409 ай бұрын
@@wandsandwanderlust your funny in an insane kind of way. Someone punching you in the face is violence. Being homeless is a circumstance which can be caused by any number of circumstances.( been there done that). You might notice as U mentioned earlier that most homelessness is in your leftist controlled cities and states brought on by their idiotic policies ( they like people to be dependent upon the government to survive. Even the homeless have access to food every city has numerous food banks and homeless centers along with missions that supply meals. Of course these would be even more available except for the fact that Leftist run cities will arrest and fine people for providing them meals. Food deserts are caused by those that live in the dessert they created by constant stealing from those businesses that were there, so no tears for them. One day when you start living in the real world where facts matter rather than rainbows and unicorn farts you will see the truth.
@wandsandwanderlust9 ай бұрын
@@greggreed3840 I'll never forget the first time I saw what a starving body looks like. If starvation isn't violence, then it wouldn't be used as a weapon of war and genocide as we have seen many times during history. To your point about cities having food banks, have you seen the food that is provided? It's either expired or "not fit for human consumption." But let's go with your limited definition of violence. Unhoused populations are more likely to experience violence. And to top it off, housed people are frequently perpetrators in cases of violence against homeless people. Whether you agree or not, as a society we are abandoning people to die in the streets here, while we send billions of dollars to Israel to displace and murder Palestinians. All of this oppression is connected.

Hello! If you want to watch the full, unedited live video reaction, head over to my Instagram: instagram.com/wandsandwanderlust/ I decided to just go live and share my raw, unedited first reaction to the news, rather than film a more formal & edited KZbin video for various reasons. First and foremost, I'm trying to work on my perfectionism. I was excited by this news and had no idea it was going to drop on a day that I had lots of other things going on. Tbh, another version of myself would have been angry and upset and ready to flip a table that I can't just drop everything to primp and film a KZbin video and then edit it to get it the closest to a full-formed opinion. & maybe that's because I want to control what y'all think of me, but I literally can't do that. It's okay to look silly or goof up. When I feel safe, I'm my silliest self. Not that the internet is the safest space, but I'm choosing to exist here anyway! I also decided that I can do a more "formal" video in the future, after all, there is plenty of time before the series premiers. Secondly, I was too excited to wait! I needed to get my thoughts out into the world and create space to hear back from my fellow Potterheads. So please do let me know how you're feeling about this new series, what you expect, etc. Finally, before I ramble on too much, I think it's necessary for the quality of this channel and my quality of life to be a bit more flexible in my approach to content creation. Is this just another way of saying I am letting go of perfection and control? Maybe! I will eventually upload the full IG Live to my KZbin channel too. Stay tuned! :)

I am starting as a Hufflepuff, you have 4-character slots so you can Choos your house and run one play through in every house and, as I plan to run all as good and eval, well I am in all honesty incapable of playing really evil toons. I hurt making eval chooses in a game. To empathetic with rather set morals. :) So by evil I mean I will run toons that use the unforgivable curses but do so out of a moral decision to fight back with the weapons of the enemy with an eye to ending the fighting faster thus harming others less in a shorter time while also ensuring the bad cannot and will not come back for more.

It sound like you're playing Hogwarts Legacy! Ah, how exciting for you! I haven't played yet as I am hoping to purchase a new gaming console so that I can stream while I play on Twitch. Anyway, enough about me, let's talk about what you said. That's so cool that you are going to play each house, I really love that approach and will take a page from your book when I play. I also really love that you are taking your moral code so seriously in the game. It's interesting to think of the philosophy behind deciding whether to use the unforgivable curses or not. In real life, I am 100% against the death penalty. How do I feel about using the killing curse in a game against virtual death eaters? Such an interesting question! Thanks for sharing and I hope you are enjoying the game!

After reviewing various scenes, I'm almost 100% sure this is the moment from the battle at Gondor. This is when Gandalf rides out onto the field with Pippin to shine the light of his staff at the Nazgul and Ringwraiths to send them back to Mordor, while the Gondor troops from Osgiliath are attempting to retreat back to the fortress inside the city. Gandal's staff definitely isn't glowing in the Helm's Deep scene, (which is where I thought this pop might be from, too), and his staff is broken before the battle at the Gates of Mordor.
