Thanks for sharing your shop. I appreciate the fact that you showed the shop in its working condition. My shop is always in a working state. I too am a FB marketplace tool buyer. All of my equipment is used and most came from marketplace. In fact I'm looking for a bandsaw right now, and the Rikon you have is on sale at Rockler. I'm concerned about that flimsy fence so I'm glad you showed it.
@DuffeyWoodcraft3 күн бұрын
Yep I bought the bandsaw last year from rockler in sale too. Honestly its really worth the price as it's a great machine. The fence is the weak point but a single clamp fixes it, or a 3rd part fence roo.

First let me say I like your shop, clean but a little dusty. Shows you work in it and not just for show. I see you use the Hercules Miter Saw, best ever, I have the same. I would strongly suggest the HERCULES 15 Amp, 10 in. Compact Jobsite Table Saw with Rack and Pinion Fence. True there is no magic stop option but just be careful. This can be built into the ena of a bench giving you mobility and a long outfeed table, the one year warrenty is a good idea too.

Thank you! Yep very dusty since I'm making in it everyday. Appreciate the comments

Happy New Year! Don’t get my car dirty. Fine! Park outside! 🤣🤣 I have a California air compressor as well. Very quiet! Sometime this we I hope to re organize my shop. Mine is on carts so I can roll out in the drive when needed. The CNC and laser is the only things that do not go outside. Mine is only 3/4 size single that wife still wants to store things in. lol thanks for the tour!

Budget of $500 what machine would do the smokers? Thanks
@DuffeyWoodcraft16 күн бұрын
Thanks for asking, sadly I'm not aware of any $500 or less machines. The smallest I would recommend is the Nextwave SD120 it's the machine I started on.
@namelessme636315 күн бұрын
@DuffeyWoodcraft that is a nice machine. I could do a price like that, but I just put that much in a computer build. (128gb video card) I do appreciate the reply, too.
@namelessme636316 күн бұрын
I'm absolutely new to the CNC machine. I have (over average) knowledge of the PC. I built my 1st PC in the mid-90s as well as being online every day since. I'm 51 living alone with zero traffic around my home. That being said, I have a bedroom (maybe 10'x10') that is 100% empty. Being a mechanic, I have an air compressor and just about every tool (along with plenty of carpenter tools) I need. Artistic talent has been with me since birth as well as both parents. Enough of that... I'm interested in car audio, and I'd like to build speaker enclosures, mostly pods, for door panels. I want to start out with MDF; design and make some for retail so I can see where it goes. I have only a high school education, but I feel like if you market a product right, you can sell anything (even heaters in hell will sell, lol). Okay, say I have $700. Well, let's say, $500 to kick around. What machine would get me started? I'm not looking to be rich, but I don't want to purchase the wrong machine. Because 500 isn't pocket change for me... Is there anyone with some ideas? Anyone who knows what I'm talking about when I say speaker pods, etc.? Any and all advice is much appreciated.
@DuffeyWoodcraft16 күн бұрын
Thanks for the info! I hope you do well! For something like this you'll need a larger machine, a 2ftx2ft at least, so the Nextwave HD510. However it is out of that budget. I'm not aware of any machine at that price point
@MJ-cw8pn16 күн бұрын
In your cost to make, you didn't add any labor costs.
@DuffeyWoodcraft15 күн бұрын
Your Correct, I normally don't pay myself on small items like this. Anything over $50 i included labor. The smalls since ime batching them out I try and keep cost as low as possible

nice work! you're pumping out some product from a small space and some bench top tools. How did you center the table top onto the legs when it came time to hand drill the leg ends?
@DuffeyWoodcraftАй бұрын
I built a jig to make sure they were centered on each leg, then the CNC drilled holes in the table top to make sure they were spaced properly

So many hobbyists don't factor anything but material. I have no idea if this your full-time thing or a side hustle. But realistically how much time do you have in each piece. And other things like rent,electric ,insurance. Profit is after everything gets paid what do you have left.
@cyberreefguru19 күн бұрын
@@erich7614 agreed. Machines wear, you need new bits, time setting up and finishing -- all contributors to a "business-level" profit calculation. Though if you are really just a hobbyist - do you need to be that precise? Perhaps, if you only ever want to be a hobbyist. Looking forward to the next vide Alex!

As a Maldivian, I can tell in this country we’ve not seen an elephant in any of the 1192 tiny islands which is just 3 feet above the sea level. Thr information is wrong. Coffee luwak and such other coffees are produced in Indonesia, Vietnam. Which they feed coffee cherries to the animals and wait for them to poop. 😂 I’ve had them and it’s not expensive in these countries definitely.
