As a fan of both, and someone who plays Zombicide solo... I think I'll just wait for Paris instead. The only minis worth getting are the Silly Walkers and every abomination but the organist. Everything else is either a large liability(Chicken Knight and Gumbys[survivors]) or only good with other players(every other model).

I've yet to get this to the table - it will probably be awhile until we do so. I've never tried Zombicide solo - we tend to play mostly 2 player or occasionally 4 player. Zombicide Paris(z)! Now you have me intrigued!! Any idea when this is coming out?? This sounds really cool.😎

This one sounds fascinating and looks really good. I'm not attracted to the aesthetics of Hex and Counter games, but I told my gaming friends that if I were to ever get a H&C game, this would be the one. However, the complexity (for someone unused to that style of game), the length of the game, and the table footprint (I don't have a table that can hold it, nor leave it there for days!) means that I'm not going to pick it up any time soon. I almost bought it on sale but resisted. Thanks for the unboxing though (including your animation of it, I enjoy how you do that).

@@richard-mtl yes the footprint is quite big because the two maps butt together so that’s something to consider. I’m determined to learn this one and play it as it does look really interesting and the rulebook is so well laid out and has tons of examples. Hopefully you may get chance to be able to play it one day 🤗👍

I love both games and I really love GMT games, but it’s quite difficult to translate and understand all rules from English into Russian. But we also have translated games: No step Back , twilight struggle and imperial struggle.

Love your list. I only played Azul so far but had very much fun with it. It is definitely in a Top 10 Games I'd like to Eat list. The one game I'd like to try most - even though I'd like to try most of them - is either Ark Nova or Ankh I guess. Or Abyss. Oh or Aqua Garden. So many good games with A! Unfortunately I can't get any Kickstarter games if they don't come to retail. I'll have to keep my eyes open I guess.

Have you tried the Gumbys? I just picked up the main box, don't own Zombicide yet so I'm considering maybe getting a copy. Mayhap I'll just paint these sweet minis.

No we have not tired the Gumby Pack just yet - but it does look great as you can play them as your character (all six of them as a group you control), or as an Abomination or even as Companions in the game. We love Zombicide and have hundreds of packs and promos - it's just getting the time to be able to play them all. But this one may hit the table soon as it looks soooo good! :)

Hi there. If I am reading your question right when the command cards are played it's broken down into 2 parts. First move and then after that attack. First move is done in turn order starting with the player holding the first player token and going clockwise around the board - each player moving if they wish - then when everyone has moved - the attack step happens. Then everyone who played command can attack even if they did not move their ships. The attacks however happen sector by sector and the player holding the first player token choses the order. If Refresh cards are played that round and all refresh cards are on the table, then the players who played their refresh action cards complete their refresh and claim actions as normal. Anyone who has played their command cards also resolve their Command cards as normal. Once everyone has finished their actions then the end of round happens, and as all players have refresh cards in front of them the board rotation happens and everyone takes their fresh cards back into hand. The rulebook can be a little misleading - if you read the refresh action part you can read it as that as soon as everyone has refresh cards on the table a rotation occurs - but this rotation only occurs at the end of the round - not during the action card phase. That retail box is the most deflating thing I have seen in a while. The OG version of Y&Y had more to offer in the retail box than this one does. A damn shame because I really like the look of the new board.

I was disappointed by it to be honest as it came with all the retail and all the deluxe components so a ton of components and boxes went into the recycling and we were left with boxes that had no proper storage solution. Which was such a shame and waste. But I’m hoping the game will be great 👍👍

@@JasonBrown-us9yv Me too - possibly they would if you left the miniatures loose, but I do not want to damage them - so I have everything split between the yellow and red boxes. I think over on BGG one or two people have managed it by printing inserts - but it will be a tight fit. Even doing it my way there is a bit of lift on the yellow box. The red miniatures box is slightly bigger - so possible perhaps to fit everything in that with some sort of insert - but I like the look of the yellow box - so I have the 2 for now.

At 8:05 you start a (simple) scoring example. One important omission is made here. Fame (VP) is calculated with your face up Region cards and all of your Sanctuaries. But you do not explain the scoring with sanctuary cards in play, while those are very helpful in scoring Fame.. So if you had at least 1 Sanctuary card showing a mineral (Uddu Stone) when turning over the last played card, that card would have scored 2 Fame.

@@thefunwithboxes I got it in the Osita Campaign, think it delivers in before Christmas. There is a second edition coming out in 2025, a big box that holds all the content (upgrade kit will be available for the original version) plus two other games to make it a trilogy, Sky Garden (Bird breeding) and Dino Garden (food chain mechanic)! I'm looking forward to them as well!

Oh my goodness. There is so much to choose from. I can say without a doubt the most played games we have are Stew, Tussie Mussie and Sprawlopolis. These are fantastic. Circle the wagons, Skulls of Sedlec, Liberation and most recently we are loving Forrest Sky. I’d recommend any or all of these 🤗🤗😎 if you like solo games they do a lot of these. Rove in particular is mega popular 👍 hope you enjoy any you get 😀
