Hello Rod. I wondered if I could ask this is for a family member who has a disability as well and they've seen your wonderful video and wanted me to just ask. If it is compulsory with MSc that you have to have health insurance? I'm just wondering if it's something that they make you take out. If you could please let me know many thanks. 👍

Hi, we just have the insurance we get with the bank, we called them and asked if they covered cruises and my disabilities and they said they did, I would not recommend going without cruises cover, MSC ask for 2 million repatriation cover. I hope this helps.

Hi please could you explain the shuttle buses more im going but i dont understand how the shuttle buses work and their costs

So you can book them on board or you can pay by the bus, they are £17 each, they drop you off at a specific place and pick you up from the same place to get you back to the ship👍

Think yourself very lucky, if I'd filmed our embarkation on the Virtuosa from Southampton on the 2nd September, I would of been filming for 2 hours from car to getting on the ship.🙄😡😤

As you look at the terminal there will be staff to the right of the entrance to take your bags. Make sure you don’t leave your documents in your bags though 👍

Thankyou so much for this video, it's incredibly helpful for me as I've never been on a cruise before but I have booked to go on the MSC Virtuosa next year. I have had a great deal of anxiety since booking as I'm completely clueless as to what to expect. I've seen pictures of how beautiful the ship is and videos of tours and food etc. But this is the only video I have come across that actually shows the embarking of the ship and all the checks etc. So thankyoh again, this was a brilliant video xx

@@VloggerRod Actually there was a sign, @6:18 you can see it right above the door when you were entering the security area. It is very common that no photo or video allowed in port security/border control area, to prevent criminals from trying to find possible security weak points using the photo/videos. Anyway I do thank you for your video, watched the whole video and it clearly shows the embarkation process, which is going to help me on my 1st cruise at Southampton.

There was about 3000 or so, yes it was great as we did not have to wait long at all for a waiter to order drinks, in fact they came to us when they could see are drinks getting low. Thanks for the feedback 👍

Ah, you've captured the embarkation process so well in this video - I bet this will help lots of people before their first cruise. I remember having no idea what to expect when cruising from Southampton for the first time - I'd have found this walkthrough really helpful!

Go MSC online type your booking number in and your details, go to the check in page and fill in the details you will then be sent you documents via email straight away

I’m just back from Virtuosa, and had a very different embarkation experience - took me 20 minutes from arriving at the port to being on the ship - incredible!

Not surprised, it was just because we had 3 incidents first thing and the checkin staff were new. MSC are great, they gave us £50 per cabin and refunded my upgrade fee

Hi they were very good, I was asked to sit just inside the terminal and within 10 minutes someone took me through security straight to check in. Great ship, I hope you have a great time.

Great video. My wife and I were on this cruise. Had 10am embarkation and got onboard at 12.15. We did have YC upgrade though but due to crowds outside, missed the YC point until got upstairs. The safety video was on channel 5 I think instead of 4! Was a great two days. Doing the August one too but with our children this time.

@@VloggerRod Virtousa was only about a third full when we sailed so none of the queues that you experienced getting on, from getting out of the car to getting a drink at the bar took 30mins. Had a great time on the ship and glad we upgraded from an inside to a balcony.

Was my first one. Party of about 120 of us ans we were all dressed in some kind of orange in the Symphony dinning room. Now book a short one in 2023. Really enjoyed the experience.
