First things first. The water pump going. Did you make several takes of the video after that? I would not be able to be so smiley....But you did get Triple AAA road service, which probably cost what the whole vacation would of. Then to get the correct water pump part....Oh yes....MEMORIES,,,,,,,,,you could live without ! But you did have views and DOWN TIME to capture things you had time to spot. Being also a photographer for over 30 years professionally and over a million images I'm curious No tripod ? I'd go for Lowest ISO, mine 64 and greatest depth of field, locking at closest position seen in photo . Will be there this coming year. I went years ago over it by small plane and 70-200 2.8 lens...Big mistake....was the time of flight in the day. We went Mid Day.....WRONG Mid day the canyon below is cooler then the air above....It was a THERMAL ROLLER COSTER RIDE, add looking thru the camera and concentrating on focus....Your Equilibrium was totally thrown to the wind, and soon dizzy and using the convient barf bag ! Telling the pilot.... HOME JAMES ! I got the shots but not all I could have. GO Early MORNING or Late in the day when the temperature above is equal to the temperature below !!! Or better .....do land shots and save possibly getting sick. Now everyone.......Where to stay, where to get great images, and what to skip ???? I expect 3-4 days the Sedona I hear is good. Then Las Vegas, Hoover Dam etc. Can't wait but alot of planning, plane from NYC,car rental there, hotels, and best to stay at the canyon... What would you all suggest....I'm listening !🎬 All Ears...in every thought to get it right.

Nice review as usual. I bought a third-party grip for my XT3, which greatly improves its handling, especially with heavier lenses.

Thanks for your thoughts about that lens! I like the size, weight and maximum aperture. AF is really okay, and the price is good, especially at the moment Fuji gives you 400€ Cashback, that is a great deal. Had the Tamron 150-500 before which is so heavy and bulky. Cheers!

Is the tracking AF really reliable for bird /wildlife photography in fujifilm ??? I have xt4 and i am thinking to get another setup (camera+lens) from other brands for bird/wildlife!!

I have to say it’s far from perfect compared to other systems. If you want to stay within the Fujifilm system, consider the XH2s… it’s really good in my opinion.. but the xt3&xt4 are not the best. However in my opinion it’s about how you use the gear and getting creative to get the shots you want:)

Hey Felix, great video and cool photos you were able to capture. I agree with you. I won't miss this lens in my kit - I'm also a nature photographer/filmmaker and often go on long hikes or spend several hours in nature, so a lens with this form factor is perfect - it's such a versatile focal length and pretty fast for this "compact" lens. I guess the 150-600 will get its place in my kit as well for certain scenarios when I need more reach... but I'm thinking about the F/8 - it might be a bit slow in the forest. And yes, you should try the latest FW ;)

Just bought this lens, and its the first time ive ever moved away from primes, i was pleasantly surprised just how sharp it is, might actually be sharper than my primes! It offers so much more flexibility than i am used to, its almost like a cheat code haha, hope to get tonnes of use out of it in 2024! Great video btw 🙂

What do you think about xt3 af capabilities for fast moving subjects? I adore my xt3 and would like to keep it as long as it works, but I don’t shoot fast pace action. When watching youtube complains about Fuji afc in old xt gen cameras I get impression that they are seriously limited when it comes to fast and reliable afc? By the way, great video!!!
