There is one easy method. (works only if the image has high contrast, like bright sky and dark mountains) The effect is called: Paint Bucket. 1. Duplicate the video. 2. Apply this effect on top video. 3. There will be a blue pointer, point it to the place where you want text. ex: sky 4. Adjust threshold etc, to adjust the layer. 5. stroke = choke, spread raidus =0 (you can change this, for me this works) 6. select invert fill 7. blend mode = stencil alpha Search google or youtube on how to use it and it will save you tons of time!!

there is also a very easier way to do it. copy ur clip and put it above ur text and the original clip. than add color key to the coppied clip. choose the color of its background and put the color tolrance high enough to see your text. and thats all you need to do. but this only works if your object isnt the same color as its background

if you want to truly conceal an individuals identity in a video these are the steps to take. for entertainment purposes, those mentioned in the video are spot on, however if your intent to prevent the identity from ever being discovered (by gov, abuser, etc) what you want to do is shadow the individual with back light, then have them wear a physical mask like a balaclava (this prevents anyone from altering the video to reveal interviewers identity). you can also have them were prescription glasses with regular glass for lenses. if they are tall have them slouch slightly in the chair/if short have them sit on a thick book. you also want the back of the chair visible so that if the gov, etc. is trying to reveal the identity they will use the chair type to determine scale of the person sitting in it. Have them wear clothing best is a hooded sweater to conceal their form of body and skin tone/tattoos/etc. when altering voice, you change the pitch, then use another program in the background to record that pitched voice, then load that recording into whatever video editor your making your video in and change the pitch again, repeat this 3x is good but 6x will prevent anyone from ever discovering the true voice of the interviewee. The hands is never a good idea if intent is to truly hide identity as 1) if the inner part of any finger tip is visible a partial or full print can be taken from the video if the video is good quality 4k or up, 2) showing the hands shows skin tone, hair pattern, hair color, skin blemishes, etc. which can be used to confirm identity. You can also conceal identity and location by using back ground noise from other areas, example: you live in AZ use sounds from NY like subway train, street noise, etc. thousands of videos exist offering such distractions. Yes eventually they will track the back ground noise to said videos but it will slow them down. If you travel, its a good idea to record sounds from the areas you travel to. these cannot be traced to any online videos, etc. though few individuals would actually need these types of diversions, yet for those who would simply like to know, there you go. -former US ARMY intelligence
