Yeah, sort of. This was my first attempt at “toy cinema.” We just started shooting with nothing more than a basic outline in our heads, telling the story visually. The only line we knew was going to be in the film was Ripley saying “the only good alien is a torched alien,” which was the quote on the cardback of the Kenner Lt. Ripley action figure, and so utterly ridiculous that we wrote the whole story around it. We shot the entire thing in sequence and essentially edited the first version in camera, just as a personal challenge. Then, after it was all shot, Sebastian wrote and recorded the dialogue and sampled sound effects and edited it all on an analog 4-track tape recorder. Then we made a VHS master tape marrying the video and audio onto a vcr. That was way back in 1998 and it took about six months to complete. Originally aired on local community access cable TV in Cambridge, Massachusetts. This version has been digitally re-edited, trimming a little of the fat to help speed up the pacing, which dragged a little more than this version, if you can believe that’s possible.

@@probotanimation I know a few people in the industry and the best advice I can give you is to keep working up a portfolio & get an agent. Hasbro isn't going to touch anything that doesn't come from an agent. They can't legally do so otherwise they run the risk of being sued for IP theft. Not only does having an agent protect them more importantly it protects YOU as it makes it less likely some unscrupulous person at corporate HQ will steal your work. Be careful. There are sharks in the water. Make sure you get someone with stellar credentials & don't EVER work for free. 'Fuck you, pay me' should be your primary motto.

I just got the cheapest basic scan option. I was blown away at how clean it turned out because this was the first time the camera was used since I bought it 15 or so years ago. The camera looks pristine, like it was hardly ever used, but I wanted to test it out to be sure. The camera is in such great condition, I hate to part with it.

Yeah, I'd never open a figure still sealed on an intact card, but in my opinion, that's what cut cards are for! And I love that there are several of my vintage Kenner collection that no one has ever touched (outside of the factory) but me.

@@probotanimation I remember seeing them at the Rumble... Somehow I saw the setlist before their set... I was psyched to see the song "Neck" on there. Then I saw the same list on the floor or the stage and sometime had put a big X thru it. They never played it. I love that song.
