You are so right about phonemic awareness being visual and auditory. How else could people who are deaf learn phonics?

This is very exciting to see these kits. I think they have a huge amount of potential to help teachers pinpoint areas to teach to. I think some of us do several of these types of assessments for skills and knowledge and it is nice to see them all put together.

It is interesting what a difference the schwa can make! It just clicked for me why so many of the students I work with for reading intervention have so much difficulty with the ending of words.

Thank you for your very formative videos! I've watched several!! I appreciate how you break down topics in short, easy to digest segments. I was excited to see this specific video today as I am currently planning a college reading foundations course this summer. This video will be perfect for sharing when introducing Scarborough's Reading Rope! :-)

This is so helpful! I never realized the s making a z sound rule! Do you offer online courses to be OG or SOR trained?
@decodablereadersaustralia8453 жыл бұрын
We don't have any courses but if you go to our Celebrating SOR Influencers videos, many of the influencers have courses and books depending on what area is of interest. We just put out little snippets of learning to assist educators in transforming their thinking.

Cool, my son just watched this and immediately went and wrote the words on a piece of paper, grabbed a car and showed me that he can do it. I've ordered your level one to try with him - he is nearly 9 and struggling with reading due to dyspraxia (a speech disorder) and most likely dyslexia - hopefully this helps.
