There's a movie called Valhalla Rising wherein (long story short) a slave who is forced to fight other slaves gets the drop on his owner, cuts his stomach open with a coin he sharpened on a rock, reaches into his abdomen, and rips his guts out. GentlemanBystander depends on where you get your information dude. There's multiple different theories on who the beserkers actually were. You probably got your information from that one dude's video whose name escapes me right now. There are some records depicting them as people who go crazy during battles and fight with an animal like rage. But in some accounts they are depicted as shamanic Warriors who go into the woods to live like a bear for a long time come back to human civilization being able to channel the rage of a bear by wearing its skin. You should never just look at one theory and think of it as fact that's called ignorance.

Read Wikipedia about the term berserker, that's where the "bear shirt" comes from, it's just the etymology of the word. Who they were isn't sure either there

GentlemanBystander LoL. Berserkers were warriors in Scandinavia who were experts in hunting and fighting. They were always called upon to go viking/raid alongside other warriors because of their expertise in harsh living conditions and combat. Yes, a lot of berserkers were viewed as warriors who would summon huge amounts of strength in their rage during combat and raiding villages and cities. But all Scandinavians who took part in viking were and had to be a bit crazy to sail to an unknown land and fight other forces. Not all Scandinavian people from Denmark, Norway, Sweden were warriors. Most were just farmers and villagers. There is a lot of misconception and unknown facts about these people. Like how many think they were filthy and disgusting men which they were not. And how people think they had horns on their helmets, which they did not lol.

We're not too sure about the drugs. It's been argued that they were genuine religious fanatics that only needed some meditation to get ready to go fucking crazy. I'd put my money on some kind of drug cocktail, though.

none of this is true. Berserkers are not real, they are mythological. Yes there probably were very spiritual warriors that believed that they carry the spirit of their familiar into battle but there is no such thing as actual 100% berserkers
