I really think that the instructions are not enough. Please do your official video. This weekend I will mod my eq6 following yoiur instruction but also Kari Brown's videos to anticipate some possible issues not included in the instructions.

Hi Malcolm, I've read your write ups on SGL on your belt mods - good work. We make the HEQ5 9t pulleys on this machine too. Machining the whole pulley in one setting means the tooth profile to bore concentricity is excellent which is most important for this application. The machine weighs 6.5 tonnes and has a 20kW main spindle with live tooling to mill and tap etc.. It's nice to work on.. Cheers, Dave.

Hello. There is a wide variation of gear errors from mount to mount and also depending on when the mount was made. More recent mounts seem better. But generally, typical errors could be 2 arc sec from the motor gear, 5 arc sec from the transfer gear and also another 5 arc sec from the gear on the end of the worm shaft. If you have access to a astro camera or guide camera, you can evaluate your mount by loading a guide log in to PecPrep. eq-mod.sourceforge.net/pecprep/ This program will analyse the data and give a good indication on the periodic error performance of your mount and also where those errors originate.
