Great jobs.. No phony acting skills like some millions dollars low budget films... You are able to direct those actors well... You should show this short films credit to Netflix. You might have a chance to direct a micro one..

Would you be able to apply this work mentality to a soon to be student? Let me preface that what I mean is could you find outlets such as you have for students. And lastly and I know this is due to a great deal of effort but would you say that the help you have received was the driving force or your own personal effort?

Hey man, I aspire to have your passion and drive with filmmaking and I'm wondering if you offer any sort of screenplay reviews or anything that would get me some feedback to improve on my work? If you do, I'd love if you could give my short film on my profile a watch and let me know what you think I should work on improving. Thanks!

Hi Vandalist. I'm an animator and manga artist on youtube. In 1 month, I'll be releasing my manga one shot, I'll be submitting it to Shonen Jump's global submission contest. Do you think movie studios will take my work more seriously if I animate it? I'm thinking of just animating my manga pages into a motion comic and pitching that to movie studios. That is FAR better than asking people to read my script. EDIT: I even have actual animated concepts and FULL worldbuilding PDFs completed

Did you struggle with motivation? Because I know that I would have no problem making a full length masterpiece as a yt video but the only way I can motivate myself to work on projects like this is by setting myself a very unhealthy deadline.

I’m planning on making a web series called Raptordogs. The pilot episode is only going to cost me about 5% of what it cost to make your film. If you could raise a million dollars for your film, surely I’m capable of raising only £55,000 for the pilot episode of Raptordogs. Thank you so much for inspiring me.

How are you able to retain the rights to your film doing private equity and crowd equity? And do you have recommendations on CPAs and Lawyers? What are you strategies for positioning your next film?
@thevandalistshow
@thevandalistshow Сағат бұрын
You retain all creative and legal rights! WeFunder provides their own CPAs at a slightly higher than industry cost, and perhaps same with financial lawyers? Though I'm not sure about that last part. Check out my description for consulting help and referral links! Hoping that I can use the momentum of this film when it premieres to help raise for my next feature :)

Hi! I need some advice. I recently proposed a film thesis to an international software company and asked them to sponsor our subscription to their software. They replied with a yes and expressed interest in hearing more about what they could offer us, which is such great news for me and my team! However, I'm unsure whether I should set the meeting before we begin shooting the film to show them our progress in pre-production (script, screenplay, storyboard, cast, overall look of the film, etc.), or if we should wait until we are done with pre-production and production and are in post-production to present the progress of the film. I'm a graduating student and still figuring things out. Anyways, love your videos! I subscribed and looking forward to seeing more content like this. :)

Hm! I'd say to show them as you go, but only the good small bits. Don't want to them to interfere with the creative process when its half baked!

Just yesterday I've fallen into a rabbit hole of cameras, short films, and emotion through those films. I've wanted to make stories for a long time now, and watching your passion for this project makes me want to create and share stories through film. I don't know if this is what I'm meant to do, but this has at least given me the enthusiasm to explore it, and maybe start writing a film. Thank you!

please read this comment you’ve raised $1 million for your first feature, but let me be clear-it’s not the money that makes a great film, it’s the understanding of cinema. I’ve watched so many films, and when I watched your short that this movie is based on, I didn’t feel anything. It felt like a random Disney DEI short-surface-level, flashy, and completely lacking in substance. The niche you’re going for feels too specific, almost self-indulgent. Filmmaking is about more than telling your personal story or chasing trends. It’s about creating something that resonates deeply, something people remember. Sure, you’ve got the funding, but now it’s time to make a film that actually connects with people-not just another basic, forgettable sports or Gen Z film like ("everything except nothing"). True cinema is about depth, vision, and originality. You’ve raised the money, but now you need to focus on understanding what real cinema is-something that will stand the test of time. Watch the classics. Study following 1998(6000$ budget), A taste of cherry ($10,000 budget), or something modern like The tree of life. These films didn’t need a $1 million budget; they needed filmmakers who understood the art of storytelling and how to use cinema to convey something meaningful. Don’t let the money fool you. It’s not about how much you spend, it’s about how you make people feel. I'm a nice guy, sorry if i come off as harsh, but this film looks like a long tiktok meaningless video. It's a bit entertaining to watch while its in front of your eyes, but after watching it you realize you didn't gain anything. All that happened was your retention was captivated for around 2 hours. If you're still reading this, i know you might just ignore me and move on with your life but i ask of you one thing please watch the films i mentioned earlier Goodbye
