I said it during the live stream too, but guys you’ve set the quality bar expectational high with this route. Keep doing what you’re doing, and don’t change. I’m going to be keeping a look out for your future content. If it’s anything like the Preston to Blackpool quality, then it will always be a day one purchase from me. I can’t wait until Tuesday to finally play this route. I’m so tempted to pull a sickie that day too 😅

Looks fantastic, could you maybe look into the LODs of the vegetation as they seem to be shapeshifting as you drive across the route. I'm aware its an unreal engine limitation however maybe something could be done to make it less abrupt!

Thanks for all the comments so far, for those asking about the sounds, please find below our info on these: The 142 Pacer in Blackpool Branches has three sound sets to cover the life of the unit: 1. Leyland TL11 Diesel engine with the RRE5 gearbox (1985-1988). 2. Leyland T11 Diesel Engine with the Voith hydraulic T211r gearbox (1988-1991). 3. Cummins LTA10-R Diesel Engine with the Voith hydraulic T211r gearbox (1993-1996 - onwards). The Cummins sound set was supplied by Armstrong Powerhouse. At the time that our team were working on the sounds, the older two sound variants were not available to be recorded as no units with these engine and gearbox combinations were running and are still not as far as we know and so despite us asking and searching for some existing recordings none could be found therefore these two sound sets were carefully curated and sourced from the Dovetail Games Trains Sim World Leyland engined Class 101 and personal recordings. All the sound sets have been expertly applied to the Pacer by Ed Fisk.

Because of the similar engines the Pacers used to have during the 1980s/90s, they had a Leyland engine with a self changing gearbox.

I mean, I am getting class 101 vibes with the audio. Correct me if I’m wrong tho. Also there appears to be no gear Hold switch modelled on the units with self changing gears? Just a very small detail tho. Other than that this pack seems very solid

There’s no gear hold at the moment as they are including all 3 engines, leyland 4 speed, leyland voith transmission and Cummins voith so most likely it’s either being added later or depends what engine your using.

@@nowapproachingytthat's an entire model and simulation that needs to be made. Basically a brand new train at that point. Jt don't have unlimited time or budget. Different sound sets are there if you want to use it

Seat seems a little high and the accelaration also seems a bit fast compared to real life but besides that its really quite good feature wise and visuslly.

I was thinking the same about the speed especially the appearance of speed through the side windows. Plus don’t know if it’s just me be looking at some pictures available the seats look to clean too. Probably me just nit picking but to me just adds a little more depth and realism to the stock and locos. Otherwise they look to polished with no signs of wear and tear. But that’s nothing in the grand scheme of things and looking at what this looks like now I will defo be buying it a 100 percent. I believe we have the opportunity to use other classes of loco that are old DLC’s too like NTP locos so yes defo one to get. Great Job.

@@ljts7587 how weathered it looks depends on the operator and how they want it depicted. It's their reputation after all. Some allow it to be heavily weathered, some only allow small amounts of weathering or none at all.

@@potatoman451 Hi yes thats right I suppose but yet still a shame then if a developer is unable to make there work unrealistic because of red tape. But come on where only taking about normal wear and tear that any company would have to deal with. It must be a massive deal tho as you look in the modelling world and wear and tear is a must. There working living things. Not all new and shiny all day. But I see your point.

There’s 3 different engines for the pacers that are available with this route, leyland 4 speed, leyland voith transmission and Cummins voith. I believe the one in the video is leyland 4 speed.

That's correct. What I wasn't sure on was the engine sound of the pacer. It sounded a bit artificial. Armstrong powerhouses class 142 seems to sound a little more realistic than this though, JTs cannot be spot on neither ap.

@@traintoguide4837 ap didn't have any recordings for the leyland engines (they don't run anymore I believe) until recently in their pacer 2.0 pack and that was close to the end too. So when jt made the route, they didn't have access to any sounds so they had to work with what they had

There’s different engines for the pacer don’t worry. The one in the video sounds like the leyland T11 4-speed. The leyland T11 voith transmission and Cummins voith will also be available to use.

Route looks great but a bit disappointed with the sounds. I see you went with the old Leyland self-changing gears engine but doesn’t sound as good as the new AP version on TS Classic. I hope there’s a Cummins engine variant. Acceleration also seems a bit too fast for a pacer imo.

There is. It's the best they could do. The audio engine, it's capabilities and what's simulated has an effect as well so you can't always have 1:1 with ap sounds

I'd agree with it looking a bit quick. Having been on a few in the 80s, 1st gear in these was chronically slow, which was always fun on the Hope Valley line. 😂 We must remember though, it's all still being tweaked in the background, I'm sure.

Will we be getting the Cummins variant as well or jsut the old gear changing one. Edit: jsut read the article and I’m loving the attention to detail here folks. Also noticed that the AWS self test sequence has only the alarm and not the beep to indicate clear. Is this something you guys have been looking into? But anyways fantastic price of kit guys honestly

It probably didn't have the TPS enabled, which in the game you can turn on seperatly or have the entire system off.

@@KevsterWilson you mean TPWS. They did have that enabled as it made the acknowledgement sound when the reverser was moved. However it didn’t not make the AWS clear sound

Fantastic route. The design looks better than we have had In TSW4 before. JTs make excellent and exceptional routes for TSC and they look to have raised the bar for TSW4. Can’t wait to explore the signal boxes. Excellent work by the JTs team.

Sounds good and looks good, but I've been in the cab on this line once the barriers hit the bottom the train is there, you can see them drop and land as you approach, kind of scared me my first time going on a loco hauled train to Eastleigh from Salisbury.

This stopped me in my tracks (no pun intended but I like it so I'm keeping it) - in 1986, I was a nerdy trainspotting kid (9 or 10), we'd just moved to Preston and my mum used to drop me off at the station on Saturdays to wander around on my own (seems hard to believe these days) and gawp at the trains, then eventually make my way over to Trains & Transport on Charnley St (almost visible in the video 😉) to spend some pocket money and wait to be picked up. I used to love those bay platforms where the Pacer is sitting. The whole video is bringing memories flooding back. I wasn't rushing to upgrade to TSW4 but this might just be my reason.
