Depends on the unit and how the work load is managed. As with any job in the U.S. Army you are a soldier 24/7.

Pay isn’t based on your job. It’s based off of pay grade E-1 through E-9 and time in service. It’s also not hourly it’s salary. No over time but you can get bonuses and incentives.

I'm a 92G a cook my reenlistment window open up, I want to reclass my goal is to become a chaplain but in the same time I need to change my mos to something else I was thinking about chaplain assistant or a 68j.
@Tailored4Service7 ай бұрын
I would highly recommend chaplain assistant. It’s a very rewarding job. but 68J is very transferable to the civilian world if you ever want to leave the service. If you have a 110 GT don’t limit yourself do research and see what MOS has openings.

What an average day like? I just enlisted for this job! Also what are the hours and can u rank up pretty fast in this mos?
@Tailored4Service7 ай бұрын
Average day depends on your unit. Hospital and clinic have set hours and you work out on your own but other type of units are from 0630 in the morning for PT, 0930 am for staring work and 1130-1300 or 1200-1330 for lunch back to work after lunch until mission complete. Hospitals don’t deploy but other units will. Going to the field just means training and you will sleep outside in tents for a week or longer. 68J order,inventory,store and maintain class 8(Medical supplies). You will order for departments in the hospital/ clinic or whatever battalions are within your Brigade. Look the functions of a BMSO. Career progression is about how much you want it. Start early..get a head start on promotion and you will thank yourself later.

This makes me feel better about sighing that 11x contract
@JoseGarcia-io2pr4 ай бұрын
I did 3 years active as 11B, now reclassing to 68J. While you’re in don’t be discouraged to go to sick call to build a paper trail for when you get out, you need this to be able to claim VA disability without all the hassle. When you have like a year left in your contract look into the CSP programs that the army will pay for you through your GI bill in the event you don’t have anything planned after your ETS so you can have a plan B. I got my CDL this way, but they have HVAC, auto mechanic, etc.

@Tailored4Service9 ай бұрын
It’s almost similar the difference is the class of supply that I work with 92y aren’t responsible for it and 92y work specifically with the command team of a company. Deployments are the same because we share the same units however only 68J can work in hospitals/clinics etc. but 92y can not.
