So if i plan on only using the app, no need to hook up the orange wire and switch? I want to use the very least amount of wires, my build is already busy with wires 😅

is that Thunderhead289? I think that butile tape might be a good way to give the hinges some degree of flexibility to avoid the hatch glass shattering.

If you really wanna get your speedometer to work, just send out your T56 tail housing and you can slide the stock T5 speedo gear right on the output shaft of the T56. That’s what I did. forget that digital Dakota BS. Wiring it, and then finding a place for it when your cable can plug directly into it just like the stock T5. Because they use the 7/8” bullet unlike the automatics that have the 2” housing

Awesome video Stan! Seems like an easier & more controlled method of getting it done by removing the rear hatch entirely like you did. One thing though, I reckon an adjustment of the hatch pulldown or latch would be in order after doing this? Been postponing this job for years because I hate glass-work more than anything. All these threads on TGO about hatch breakage makes it nerve-wrecking! I reckon a misaligned hatch makes it more prone to breaking too. *Sigh* There's no way out of this, I guess.😂

You made a good point if nothing else, for peace of mind. I have the luxury of a pole barn for storage, and I always leave the rear hatch AND the hood up to take the load of the lifts and the hatch assembly / hinges, especially for the long winter storage . Great stuff, I will have to add those Hawks "Billet Hinges" to my summer 25 plans.

You have to keep in mind, the duals are made for 4th gens. For 3rd gens you need a custom connection pipe from x pipe to headers. I have 6 speed Magnum f

Long tube speed engineering headers and 6 speed magnum F. These are for 4th gen, you have to custom make the connection pipes to headers from the x pipe on forward

Bout the best video review I’ve found for doing a e-fan swap on a s10. I’ve replaced my clutch recently but I’d definitely invest in this product for sure to get a little more power and mpg in my 03 Sonoma zr2. I’ve done a cold air, dual super 10s after the cats, and a Hypertech max energy getting 19mpg highway and 16ish city with a 17mpg combined. Thank you for the details and look forward to future updates 👌👌

The hood thing must be from age. I had one back in the day, and I didnt have any hood issues. Mine was stock, just an auto 305. It was an 83 with an 87 body and ground effects. 30k miles. Great car, but the problem, was being overseas. No parts, and way too much attention sometimes. I still regret selling it when I joined the military. Should have brought it back home with me.

If the 5th gen seats arent for you, what i just did on my latest fbody's interior was a hawks upholstery kit that didnt come with headrest covers. So the 2000 firebird seats that i was re-covering were put in sans the headrest and what you get is a reasonably modern seat tha looks like a low back seat kinda like some 1st gens had and that companies like Corbeau sells. Anyway beautiful car man
