Tony, it starts with controlling GREED! Unproductive uses of CAPITAL in share buybacks is the 1st and most important roadblock that must be taken down. Harris had the idea correct in controlling education budgets, but it didn't impact the bloat at the top. Reagan did! Debt is unconscionable now and that we were prepared to allow Trudeau to divert almost a $1B to a questionable charity shows what greed truly is and until we control that and have a balance of business people in power, you are on a hamster wheel going nowhere. Set terms for all politicians and 2 terms in a lifetime, may help with greed!

I'm not talking about 401ks, piggy banks, or Grandpa's old tools in the garage that can be sold at a garage sale. I'm referring here to the North American pension system. The North American pension system considers non-governmental employment to be identical to lifelong unemployment. If you don't work for the government the pension system considers that the same as if you never worked a day in your life

Here’s my say Zellers may have been out for a decade but there are thousands of Canadians who’d rather shop with a Truly Canadian Brand that always had the Canadian way of conducting business true some customer related interactions started lacking at some locations including the proper way to initiate interaction with customers by using the proper titles Sir or Mam and yes Zellers did encourage that practice I know they did because I worked for Zellers I have given Walmart a chance but their service isn’t as good they’ll point you I the direction of a product but they won’t show you to product and a large percentage of Walmart employees don’t use Sie or Mam they’ll just say oh hey what’s up but when I worked for Zellers and when I was a customer at different locations it was yes Sir/Mam let me show where to find what your looking for and around the busier times of times of the year staff would be asked to make additional offers to help find other products I was and did I would rather shop at Zellers Everyone is entitled to their opinions I wouldn’t have it any other way but I was one of a few hundred thousand people that didn’t want Zellers to close and before they did close they had revamped 5 stores with plans to revamp more Zellers Brand Revitalization Video-Winnipeg

SAdly not enough Americans understand they are far from exceptional. This interview was before we learned 64 million voted for Trump again and just did not care they lost, at that time, nearly 800,000 fellow Americans because of an incompetent govt and right-wing disinformation. And with the disingenuous shout of 'freedom'. I'm from UK and have lived here for 33 yrs. Americans have been brought up on the need to be an individual. They talk a good game with theres no 'i' in team etc etc, but don't adhere to it. They are taught the poor and disabled deserve their lot in life. The poor because they made poor decisions or didn't get a good education or a myriad of other reasons. They are told the poor and disadvantaged are really just thieves and shirkers. ANd lets not help them because there a few who milk the system so lets throw out the whole plan. This has mostly been the Republicans but Clinton deserves a special mention. They have no concept of the common good. Whereas I have been around the concept of a good safety net and help for the poor and needy right from birth in the UK. The conservatives have had some real douchebag right wingers over the last 50 yrs, but generally are more akin to the Democrats in America. And the ultimate irony is the USA has the highest number of folk who call themselves Christian or religious.

And since my wife had a massive stroke in 2017 I have witnessed so much disgusting human behaviour. At 64 I am only now learning how nasty we can be to each other. I have witnessed homelessness and am now helping the homeless in my area. Everyone talks a good game about helping the homeless, particularly veterans, yet when I ask for money to help even the vets, I am shunned and ignored, even by those who shout the loudest about how they love their old servicemen. Don't hold out hope for humanity when the largest, most influential country in the world refuses to do enough about the climate change issue. Another bout of anti-science Republicans in charge will lead to a decade in power after they have completely subverted democracy, and we will be doomed for sure.

I really miss working at Sears. It isn’t Amazon’s fault. Macy’s, HBC, even Walmart…there are still department stores. What we didn’t give our customers was the magic. They didn’t allow us as managers to make creative displays, they didn’t motivate the employees. They had everyone, the managers, buyers, even the fashion brands telling them that we needed to give people a real department store experience, and they just didn’t care.

Skip the Dishes stole my hard earned American dollars after my card was hacked and used to place an $88 food order. Apparently this platform has a widespread fraud problem. I would like to think Mr. Edwards as CEO is concerned about the questionable integrity of this company.

The fall of Sears was the bumbling Rumsfeld involvement and terrible business philosophies of Jack Welsh that had made it through the colleges by then. I've owned three riding lawn mowers. I've spent three months trying to purchase another one. But everyone claims on the internet they have one, but when you actually to get one, they're just not there... And no one is keeping the internet posts up to date on price and general availability... Out of frustration, I ended up purchasing John Deere...

Some great advice to grocers and other retailers here in Canada - get focused on assortment, better quality and high "in stock" position, rather than proliferate the SKUs which just confuses the customer, adds supply chain complexity and overhead.

I read the article - got some stuff spot on, misrepresented some things. "Since the 1970s, China has not once gone to war" is blatantly false. Sino-Vietnamese War, Cambodia, Tibet, Mischief Reef, and others. Also, Tiananmen Square, human tracking, the Chines gangs (very prevalent in Vancouver), string mining the world's oceans... . Canada has decent healthcare - I lived there. The only reason it works is the US provides a safety net - lot's of Canadians come to UWMC for treatment. And, if you need a CAT scan, it will take a while. If you need CAT scan because you may be about to have a stroke, it will still take a while. The US is a mess, and it will get worse. But, a nation of 330 Million is a lot more complex than a nation with 38 million. He got a few things spot on, in particular the role of Russia (Actually, USSR - Soviet) in WWII Europe. Sort of missed the role of the USSR in Eastern Europe, China in producing Fentanyl precursors for the Mexican Mob, and the fact that Canada's would have to deal with the Latin American economic migrants if the US wasn't in the way. But, no matter who wins this election, I would go probably go back to Canada if I could.
