it takes some time to get the hang of it but its super effective!! Practice practice practice!! Set the hook with the line, not with the rod and always point the rod toward the line when stripping! Tight lines!!

Great job on the fly. You need to slow down your casts you are losing all of the energy. Watch a video on double hauling on you tube and strip setting. When you hook your first tarpon on the fly , you will never want to catch them any other way. Thanks for the video.

@@CDFootballGaming sure is! I rinse it off really well after each trip. I look at it as chances are it’ll last just fine. If not, those saltwater trolling motors are ungodly expensive, even if I have to buy two freshwater ones it’ll be almost the same

not sure if you've tried them or not, but i love keeping those mayan cichlids, especially in brackish water. they taste great, a lot like the mangrove snappers.

My friend and I made the trip down there last year to Stuart and stopped at Snook Nook for croaker. Didn't get any bites but were fishing from shore and bridges. I want to bring my jon boat down there and try again.

Hell yea brotha! Try them and live shrimp pending the time of year you come down! Shrimp you’ll get snook, tarpon, mangroves, jack! They didn’t have shrimp today since it’s been so hot their supplier couldn’t get them. Let me know when yall come down and I’ll give you as much advice as I can!

Yes! Bigger isn’t always better! Growing up bass fishing I learned it’s not always the size of the bait. I’ve caught 8-9 lb bass on the smallest worms and lures I had. All depends on what they want. Not biting big? Try small!

@CharlotteHarborFisherman I grew up fishing a 4 inch worm Texas rigged and caught MONSTERS! Beetle spins are awesome too!! Strike king I believe makes a small spinner bait between a full size and beetle spin that worked awesome and the hook was a little stronger!

Hey, obviously you haven’t been fishing too long. I’ve lived in Everglades city for 45 years and if you ever want to learn how to work a Topwater you’re doing it absolutely wrong. You need to work it out at least 8 feet from the mangoes mangoes and probably learn how to walk the dog first before you throw top water you’re horrible
