Hi! Why my music stops when i do the scratch? TIA!
@DJMayheezyСағат бұрын
The fader is reversed in this scratch, it's called "hamster" style. I think that's why your music stops

What crossfader settings should i be using in Serato?

If you are scratching, make it to the fastest possible cut (the least amount of travel with the crossfader to hear sound) there is also "hamster style" which is reversed crossfader but that would just be your personal preference

So, not being very school in scratching at the moment, is it your opinion that setting the crossfader on 'reverse 'is a superior method? And why?
@DJMayheezy5 ай бұрын
Reverse crossfader is called "hamster" style and it was/is popular back in the late 90's-2000's to now. As far as it being a superior method, it's not, it's just a preference. You are going to have to put in the practice hours for whatever style you choose

All others that reviewed the DDJ rev7 Xfade does not compare to ranes, Xfader see you’re biased toward pioneer. I remember when pioneer was the Gemini of stereo equipment. RANE is built like a tank. Pioneer is plastic.
@DJMayheezy7 ай бұрын
I've owned both and had the rane for at least a year before getting the rev 7. There is something about the rane crossfader that makes it feel inferior to the pioneer. It's still good but the pioneer is better. Rane does have a better build but the rev 7 is overall a better controller because of it's features. Either way you cant go wrong

Do you consider if its better for me to buy a Pioneer Rev1 over a Pioneer FLX4 if i'm leaning on learning to scratch and scratching on shows? I find the FLX4 more versatile and modern, but i would really like to scratch and be good at that.
@DJMayheezy11 ай бұрын
In my opinion between the 2 i would get the flx4. Your scratching will 100% depend on the PRACTICE on the equipment you are using vs the layout... If you are 100% sure you will be switching to turntables and a battle mixer then go for the rev 1, otherwise the flx4 would be my choice. Let me know if you have any other questions

Thanks for your videos and mixes. I also have the rev7 but i don't know if i gonna keep it. What i like with this controler is the fx, the crossfader is nice, the serato fonctions integration is complete what i like less is the layout, not fan of the placement of the filter,the pitch, i hate the cue listening with this small crossfader, i don't feel confident with the platters because i have seen a lot of problems with some platters going backward or slow. i find it's really hard to beatmatch precisely with this without hearing pitch sounds compared to cdj platters...i have also noticed that with this controler you have to lower the trim if you don't want to clip...i don't know if i keep it or buy the pioneer xz

What about the REV 7 you prefer more (the moving platters)? I picked up a REV 7 before but wasn't a great fan of the platters but I feel like I wouldn't like these platters (due to non moving). Although, the Stems section and just to do blend mixes it looks loads fun. Plus, I've found one for under 979 USD here in the UK.
@DJMayheezy Жыл бұрын
I'm going to make a video comparing but i LOVE turntables so moving platters is my preference... Surprisingly these are the best non moving platters i have ever used for scratching, after a couple minutes you just forget they are non-moving and the overall "feel" for scratching is there. The worst thing about the rev 5 in my opinion is the cue'ing section, major step backwards from the rev 7 but for $979 you cannot go wrong
@jameswilliams3046 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I know what you mean about the platters. This is my fear if I buy it and just hate the platters. It would be cool to see a comparison video.
