honestly, i havent bothered to try them. i figured im better off with guns than melee weapons, especially when the pistol has infinite ammo.

i dont know what you mean exactly by the overworld. outposts eventually go back to being legion controlled, and random side objectives appear in the open world continuously, like legion targets, doomsday weapons, legion lairs, etc. there are a very limited number of different races being mayhem deliveries and recon runs that can be replayed, but they are preset paths. there are also relics trading post spots which only need to be taken over once each, then stay in your control. the global conflict feature has legion lairs as well that will show as unlocks for sending agents to search regions as well as the one preset final lair to do, then it resets, letting you search the regions again with possibilities of legion lairs again. then there are the main missions, which can be replayed after you complete them all, and the character missions. both those are all linear story missions. let me know if you meant something else.

Honestly, the best thing to do would be to find a video tutorial on it. It's pretty simple to use, but I don't know where I'd begin to explain it because I'm really bad at explaining things. Sorry I can't be of more help.

you have to get it to charge at you when your in front of a wall, and move when it starts charging at you. it can take a few tries, and you need to wait a minute or two before they actually charge you, but it should work.
