I have been an educator in a classroom, grades K through 8th grade, for over 30 years! This is one of the best videos to showcase student and teacher roles for a classroom that encourages student discourse and problem solving during the math block. I'll be sharing with my teammates and other staff mambers. Thank you for enspiring me to try new things this year with my kindergarten students!

as a particular fan of butterfly’s symmetry yet uniqueness, I particularly learned a lot from this video about how sometimes you don’t start off perfect. You start off with a draft, and then improve and improve it as time goes on.

How many students do you have share each day? What comes next in the lesson? Do you teach any other strategies? Or do they go off to do something independently?

This was filmed at my elementary school. The oldest kids in the video graduated in 2020 and the youngest kids are graduating next year (2025) crazy that they are immortalized in this video!

These students are very well spoken for their age. Seems that they've been educated well. I really like the idea of making sure every student understands what's going on before the class as a whole progresses any farther.

Thank you for this video ladies! I appreciate the positive affirmation at the end. It is true that if you tell them they can do it and believe in them while giving them the support they need then they will also believe that it is possible. In fact, they will begin to see how easy the work can be.

I love that there are NO SMARTPHONES in this classroom. I think that makes a huge difference in participation and engagement. They also do not have laptops. The basic content and the teacher are all awesome, of course.
