20 km pulling 1,000 lbs??? Is there another video of the trail side belt change halfway home?
@yukonsleds
@yukonsleds 6 ай бұрын
You have to start following our fb page and watch the insane loads customers pull. That is a pretty average load people do all the time behind Skandic wt 900 ace. He would have only pulled it 20 km to camp where they can take time to skin carefully as they were likely processing meat into the dark hours. Many of our customers brag of filling sleds with 11 caribou and a camp and travelling 500 km plus in -40 conditions. These are the easiest towing sleds on the market…. Stopping them with that big of load can be different story. Please follow yukon expedition sleds on fb where we share customers pics and vids from across the arctic

They are made from the toughest plastic on earth called Uhmwpe that stays flexible down to -107 degrees . The material last 13x longer than 1/4” steel plate being dragged over gravel and sand. These sleds don’t break in the cold unlike most sleds available

Only had one problem with my YES the hitch pin broke. The pin is held in place either three tiny spot welds and the welds let loose, lost the pin but I had a spare pin. Be nice if they welded the pin completely around instead of the three little spot welds. Other wise it’s an awesome sleigh and I have had lots of them over the last 52 yrs. It’s a real load hauler and awesome in over flow and pulls real easy!

I would think that no metal runners/skegs on the bottom would be bad if you are trying to drive on ice at all. Sled can swing around and jackknife. For only snow fine.

Hello from Finland! Have you ever tested which plastic is slipperiest in slush and is there plastic that snow does not stick? PE1000 vs PE300 or 500, which is best?
@yukonsleds
@yukonsleds Жыл бұрын
We don’t use them types of plastic . We use Uhmw. When slush freezes to it we just bang off with an axe.

Do you have a pintle style hitch for polaris titan ? Nice sleigh ! Cheers
@yukonsleds
@yukonsleds Жыл бұрын
Yes we do. With a titan you need an extension hitch that fits into receiver or the yes hitch will contact the snow flap ... and the flap will get torn off by track .

I have the same furnace and have been using it for 5 years for wintering camping I also screw the vent pipe to the top lip on the furnace (small lip that can pull off). I don't have an Artic oven but have a few different tents and we camp down to minus 40. When it gets below -30 we bring the propane cylinder inside the tent. I know it sounds dangerous but we double check every propane connection you need vapor pressure to have heat. I also have a Carbon monoxide detector/ smoke detector, cold weather propane hose, small box for furnace which holds a wood stove fan that goes on top of the furnace and a small battery operated fan/ led light which was designed for ice fishing tent (hang it at top of tent and it blows down heat). I also take a double insulated tarp for the floor. I must admit if we are going for more than 3 nights we take a wood stove someone is then getting up a couple of times to stoke fire during the night.
