I remember 1971 I made $10,500. That was more than most grown men with a wife 2 or 3 kids a house and car made. And they were doing OK on less. A news magazine in 1980 said that due to inflation that everything you could buy in 1980 for $ 1,000,000 you could've bought in 1970 for $448, 000.

“Let me get this straight, pardon the expression.” Classic scene! Couldn’t get away with that now.

True story: one day in my early teens when I was having pizza with a neighbor who was about the same age, she let her dog take a bite of her pizza crust, and then bit from that same end of the crust. When I gave her a nauseated look, she shrugged and said, "What? He's family." Not to sound "petist," but unlike Buck, this dog was an ugly, slobbering pitbull. Thus, my discomfort. Sometimes truth (my story) is stranger than fiction (Al's meals being served in Buck's bowl). This is actually quite fitting, because my neighbor and her family are very tacky and obnoxious just like the Bundys. Mind you, I was about 12 or 13 during the following incidences: -- While laughing, she said that her father told her that he thought I was retarded. She was referring to when he apparently overheard me say "I don't get it" to a joke that somebody was telling, or something to that effect. -- When her brother (about the same age) came to their father to obtain permission to buy my bike that I was selling, their father explained that it wasn't in good enough condition and so forth. Understandable. However, he also said, "$25 for this piece of shit?" Keep in mind that other neighbors were standing there when he made that remark. -- About four years after those two incidences, I overheard her brother having "guy" talk with their dad, about his sexual escapades with his girlfriend. Again, understandable. However, their dad asked him to put a hidden camera in the bedroom so he can watch them in action. The son happily obliged. As much as I love "Married With Children," a real-life family like the Bundys is far from funny.

Dan Castellaneta is always a riot. I love how Al is usually so snarky, but feels no need to mock Dan's character since he is actually just a cool dude who treats Al far better than Peg does, haha. He even dumps on soccer.

"But he's getting your wife! Well, let the punishment fit the crime". 🤣 Al and the writers were so awesome. The look on Al's face when he said yes to "lemme get this straight, you work, you cook, AND you like sports" I seriously almost spit out my gulp of soda when I saw that look on his face, had to cover my mouth as a safety measure.

Best example of integrating a gay couple without pandering or terrible story writing. And this was made in the early 1990’s.

Heard a comedian describe the benefits of a gay relationship as how you have a like-minded partner, and once the sex part goes away as in any long term relationship you still have someone to watch the game with. There is wisdom here!
