@@callsigndisciple626 but were they fife and drum. Fife's were British. I don't think the Europeans played the fife. In Britain the redcoats were English. Enemies of the Scots. I think this is redolent of British rule.

The continental army wore blue coats with red facings. The field musicians wore the exact opposite, red coats with blue facings.

Right!
@4325air3 жыл бұрын
It is not a "...Revolutionary War ambulance." The Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps wears the uniforms of the US Army in the Revolutionary War of 1776-1783. The motorized ambulance was from the US Army in World War II, 1941-1945 (the years that the US was in the war)..

@@4325air Really?!!! Who knew? See, and I thought that motorized vehicle went all the way back to, well, at least 1780. The things you learn on KZbin.

@4325air3 жыл бұрын
@@josevicentejrmeneses8552 You might not think so, but, yes, I've got a great sense of humor! The problem with the internet is that we cannot see people's faces or hear their voices in order to see if they (Ronald) are kidding or not. Let me give you an example of something that happened to me and sorta caused me to make my above comment to Ronald. On 9/11, my employees (ages in their 20s) were standing around, absolutely shocked. I happened to say, "Well, this surprise attack is shocking to us in a similar way to how people were shocked when the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor. " Now, I was 50 years old in 2001 at the time. I did not look like an "old geezer," am told I look younger for my age. And Pearl Harbor was in 1941. One of my employees replied, "Wow, you were at Pearl Harbor? What was it like?" Do the math. If I was, say, 20 years old in 1941 and in the Navy, that would make 80 years old in 2001! You see, a whole lot of people have no clue about US history or when the Revolution happened or the Civil War. I've even taught history, and the lack of knowledge out there is truly amazing. (Not the students' fault; schools simply don't teach much history). I've also read the most incredible KZbin comments that were NOT intended to be humorous, such as the guy who was arguing that main battle tanks were introduced in 1861. (During the Civil War?) So, I would suggest that if a KZbin viewer is just kidding, then to prevent misunderstanding, end their post with something like " :-)) ." Or end the post with "Just kidding."
