This and "Big Wheels In The Moonlight" were always the first songs I'd play on a road trip, rolling west on I-70 in the wee hours of a Saturday morning, trying to cram a 3-day weekend into two.

I liked this song. The first release off the excellent 1990 "Heart Full Of Love" Album. I don't know why Radio didn't play it, other than it didn't have a Music video to get it noticed. Allot of Artists songs were pretty much "Dead on Arrival" without a music video. Her next single the title track was Top 20, an the 3rd release off the CD was "You Really Had Me Going" which became Holly's 4rth Number 1, the only one to reach the top of the charts on Billboard. However, there were so many songs on this album that could have been huge. "My Old Love In New Mexico", Temporary Loss of Memory, Broken Heartland, The Light In The Window Went Out". Although I would have liked to have had a 3rd verse, I still, think that "Temporary Loss of Memory" would have been one of her biggest hit songs. The cut "When No Place Is Home" could have and definitely should been a fund raiser single for an organization like UNICEF, or Feed The Children". So powerful.

First heard Holly perform this tune on the old TNN Shows called On Stage and The Texas Connection. Loved the song. Found it so powerful. This may have actually been a single in England and Australia, but not in the United Startes. That is what I have been told. This whole album was outstanding. "Lonesome Highway, "The Stronger The Tie", "If Nobody Knew My Name" and On The Wings Of An Angel" were all amazing songs that could have been Big Hit records.

Thanks much for posting this. Another mostly forgotten song of Holly's although it was included on her Milestone Greatest Hits CD. Kinda of wish it had a 3rd verse, but it's entirely carried by her vocals. Holly said she wanted this song to be a throwback. This song definitely songs like Old school "Country and Western". Alas it stalled at Number 11 on Billboard, probably because the MTM record folded while it was still climbing the charts. However, I'm pretty sure it made Top 10 on Radio and Records and The Gavin Report. Maybe as high as Number 7 or 8. Information is really difficult to come by. "Heart Full Of Love" also got to like 11 or 12 and was left off the Milestones CD. MTM folding probably prevented all 3 of Holly's first 3 album's from reaching Gold sales figures if not higher, since they all went out of print and were no longer generally available in stores for purchase.

This was a Top 5 song, but was inexplicably left off of Holly's Milestone's Greatest Hits album. So it like "Why Wyoming" has become increasingly obscure. "Why Wyoming" is such a great song. Wish that both these songs were better known. Many of my favorites songs of Holly's were never released as singles. Across The Rio Grande was a tremendous album.

This is yet another awesome song that should have been a single. There is no reason "Blue Rose Of Texas" was not a Platinum selling album if not Multi-Platinum, other than not enough singles and a lack of Music videos. I believe the only video from this CD was a performance vid for "There Goes My Heart Again" probably derived from a TNN Broadcast. They could have gotten 6 singles off this CD easily. The trouble is narrowing down the other two between this one and "If I'd Never Loved You", "Most Of All Why?", "Thunder & Lighten'. Truly one of the best Album's I have in my Collection. All of Holly's album's were pretty exceptional. What an extraordinary voice she had. Such an underrated artist. The "Getting It Dunn" CD in 1992 should have been huge, but by that time she was pretty muc Blacklisted by Country Radio. Still angers the hell out of me.

This entire album was phenomenal. They should have released at least a couple more singles. This is one of them.

What a phenomenal album. Every song could have been a single and several of them that went unreleased could have been big. They clearly didn't release enough singles. "When No Place Is Home" should have been used for Feed The Children or Unifcf. Something like that. "Old Love In New Mexico" and "Temporary Loss Of Memory" could have been huge. As might of this song.

I still have this album and vinyl. I bought it at a store called benny's in groton connecticut for $3.99. Every single song on this album is a fucking hit!

I still have the VINYL ALBUM. RIP ANDY GIBB. RESPECT, APPRECIATION, ADMIRATION ALL THESE YEARS LATER. This is the first and only time that i've ever looked for this song and listen to it since nineteen eighty or so. I know the casual reader of my comment May not understand but i'm overjoyed.
