Is there a way you can put the elevator speed on high when your loading or is it just as your pushing the pedal it give it speed power?

No notnat all! Over lap them by 50 cm.. and use a special dust to lay in between.. when wet it's became sticky and bond with liner.. never had one fail 👍

Great video of the Caterpillar 70 scraper! Question: what is the cable spool that is mounted on the left side (from the video perspective) of the bowl support arms cross member used for? I've seen (on other KZbin videos) these cable spools mounted on other old, cable operated scrapers, but I don't know what they're used for. Is the cable spool part of a cable operated mechanism for raising the bowl or apron, or for moving the ejector plate?

That spool is there in case you break a cable and have to restring the unit. Essentially "spare parts" on board.
