For someone new to inflatable kayaking, what stretch on the N. Santiam can I easily float keeping it level 2 and below? Thank you. I live in Stayton.

@@righteousriverfishinginoregon7 The Packsaddle section of the N. Santiam is very friendly class 3. I've done the section below Packsaddle a couple times when the water gets quite a bit higher. That section may be what you're looking for at normal flows.

What drone are you using. Love it. Back in the '80s and '90s the Yough (upper & lower) was our play river (worked as a guide there too... learned to really dislike crowds).

It's the DJI Mini 2. I enjoy it. Pretty small and everything easily fits in a Watershed Ocoee with room to spare.

Chris, have you paddled Lee's Ripper 2 yet? If so, how does it compare to the Antix?

Hey Derek, no I haven't. He has a large which would be a bit too big for me. The Ripper 2 will likely be my next boat though some time down the road.

@chris_paulo
@chris_paulo Жыл бұрын
@samdavis823 Thanks! I enjoy both boats but prefer one over the other for particular river levels and technicalities. If it's higher volume with boils, waves, cross currents, etc. I'll take the Scorch. If it's lower volume and technical I'll take the 9R2.

Hey man! Love the vids. Started packrafting 2 seasons ago. Curious what grip/tape you use on your paddle?
@chris_paulo
@chris_paulo Жыл бұрын
Hey! Most kayakers nowadays just use electrical tape. I recommend avoiding the cheaper electrical tape and something you would find in a Home Depot or Lowe's versus Walmart. Also, I just tried out paddle wax. I may start using that in addition.

I recently heard wade talking about how racing paddles shouldn’t be used for play boating because they structurally aren’t built to have the back of the blade loaded the way others are. Who knows if that was in play here though.
