Man, those drone videos shoot some great footage!! Does anyone know what the purpose of the siding to the west(to the right) at the end of the video, was ever used for? Was it a helper engine runaround track back in the single-track main days?

That is the original mainline from before the eighties.

96 cars if you're counting the articulating auto rack as one car and 131 on the empty coal drag.

I always count each unit of an articulated set as an individual car. :)

Been itching to run some live steam again! Even acquired a live steam big boy last year! Unfortunately most of the track I invested in needs to be corrected for gauge. :(

The light was amazing! It was sort of a last minute decision, and then Eric happened to be in Chicago and able to join too. I think next year we'll do this one again, so long as they guarantee us that spot along the west windows! Interested? :D

When these cars get out here to the Puget Sound area the trains carrying them are protected from meets on curves along the Sound, even though most of the main is double track. The fuselage cars are switched out at Mukilteo, and the tall tuscan-colored cars are set out(they go to Boeing Everett up the 6.25 percent branch). The fuselage cars then head south to Interbay, where they stay until The Renton Rocket local takes them into the Boeing 737 plant at Renton. Very cool cars, and an interesting operation.
